I predict "The Incredibles" will smoke SHREK $$$ w
That's right.. I predict "The Incredibles" will smoke SHREK at the box office with maybe a little help from Lucas's EPISODE III Trailer as well somewhat helping it.. The movie looks, well, INCREDIBLE and might just be Pixar's best yet, but will see.. SHREK 2 grossed what, around 430 Million?? I say "The Incredibles" beats it with 450 Million.. Any takers??

450 Mil. is a lock WW
Domestic - 450 mil. Dream on. I would be shocked if it beats Nemo let alone make 450.

I would absolutely love to see The Incredibles take out Shrek 2 and I think it's quite possible too, but it is unlikely. Maybe if it gets a little boost from major Oscar nominations.
Still, quite possible indeed. CGI is, clearly, all the rage these days, and The Incredibles is apparently one of the most amazing CGI films ever. It will undoubtedly attract new audiences, but it could also lose some.
As my sig says, I predict $410M. $440M is possible.

There's no pipe smoking on this end folks(It's cause it's dry) But seriously, this movie has received nothing but positive praise so far and not 1 negative thing has been muttered yet that I know of, not to mention that it's the 1st PG rated Pixar film which won't hurt it a bit and if Nemo can find it's core audience like it did, then The Incredibles is a sure lock to do the same thing.. Just the look and plot of it alone looks and sounds Incredible.. Will see.. If this film can come close to breaking 100 Million in 1 weekend, even 4-5 days, I think it can pull it off.. After the blood and guts that was "The Grudge" and "SAW", moviegoers will now turn their attention to cheery holiday movies and The Incredibles fits that to a "T".. Will see.. Hell, I never claimed to be an expert at box office predicting and as a matter of fact, I suck at it.. But then again, I did predict TEAM AMERICA would Suck and Bomb and it did, so I guess there's a 1st for everything.. If only I was so lucky with AVP and The HULK..

I'll buy 90 Million opening weekend.. Sure, why not?? It'll be the perfect way to kick off the holiday season... I mean "The Grudge" and "SAW" are finished after this weekend, if for the mere fact that watching someone hack through there own limbs doesn't exactly sound like Holiday cheer for any moviegoer, so what stands in the way of "The Incredibles"??

I think marketing for both films is being overshadowed by The Incredibles marketing and product placement with the cell phone commercials..

Yes which is why I'll refer you back to my opening post citing that I suck at box office predicting, but AVP still RULED the world and the year 2004 for me with Spiderman II and KILL BILL Vol 1-2 in 2nd and 3rd.. Paul"The Man" Anderson ROCKS and so will the awesomeness of the AVP DVD when it arrives.. I totally dig that cover art for it..

I already said Incredibles will make about 350mil compared to Polar Express and Spongebob making about 100mil each or so, those two movies will still hurt Incredibles business enough so it wont reach anything above 350mil

It would have been interesting how The Incredibles would have done with a prime early summer slot.
Where it is, it will probably stay in the low 300 range. Thinking that it will have good word of mouth and reviews.

450M is pusing it a bit, I'd say 340-360 is more reasonable. But if it does suprise with a huge opening like shreks it could do much more than expected with all the upcoming holidays. I predict 87.5/351

I dont think The Incredibles will beat Nemo's gross - too much competition.
IMO we will see the following -
Incredibles - $287m
Spongebob - $109m
Polar Express - $106m

The episode III trailer is only going to affect the Incredible's opening day.
By saturday, there will be a thousand copies of the trailer circling the internet, and people who are seeing the movie mostly to see the trailer can just download it from their computer.

Don't shrug off BKB yet. It does seem like every new 3-D style film outgrosses the last. I don't know about Shrek 2, but I definitely see it smoking Finding Nemo, especially with the holiday season here.

Hopefully, you'll right on this one
