Scary Movie 3 may have had one of the best trailers ever made

Just watched it and love all those references (The Ring, 8 Mile, etc.) and Leslie being in it though the only thing I remember from the final movie was the MJ scene.

Scary Movie 3's is bigger than I expected considering it was coming off the 2nd movie which while an underrated classic to me was not that appreciated with 13% RT and making half as much as the first.

Bruce Almighty was definitely a "super bowl spot" type of event. The days when a comedy could pull that off let alone an original one...

I also think Bruce Almighty had the absolute best plot for a high concept fantasy comedy. "A random guy suddenly becomes God" is such a great concept that had never been done before. That plus peak Jim Carrey in a role that fit perfectly.

I also think Bruce Almighty is more impressive than The Grinch. As we see with the animated version, the IP is the brand so a Carrey-less Grinch probably would still have done well.

Bruce Almighty on the otherhand was all Carrey. Liar Liar also remains a classic for how original it is.

God I hate the live action grinch love the sets though, I think Bruce almighty was even more impressive because it was Carey’s first real comedy in almost 3 years and me myself Irene did well but not great. I think it’s part of the reason the Sonic films are doing so well. People genuinely like him when he’s going full comedy, and new generations like him cause he’s still the rubber man with enthusiasm. I think ace Ventura 3 would be huge if he ever tried it, even if he is mostly retired now
