It turns out it's essentially an extended pilot episode for a show that debuts the same day on the Angel Studios website and app. The movie ends by encouraging viewers to "pay it forward" by purchasing a ticket for someone else, which in turn allows you to watch the first episode of the show for free. This is so insane. Personally, I avoid religious films, but if I went to any movie expecting a complete story and encountered this bait-and-switch, I'd be pissed. That was not the worst part though. It really felt like it failed to launch...like there was some minor action but I think everyone was expecting more...then suddenly it ends saying "The End...is just the beginning. Then some actor from the movie-not a main character comes on screen speaking to the audience and asking us to "Pay it Forward" and a QR code comes on screen for us to scan and pay for someone else to see the movie for free and in turn we could watch the first episode free in a series that would start right where it left off. I literally laughed out loud. If your trying to convert people, just make a good movie...don't bait and switch them. I went to see an apocalypse movie...throw in a little religion if you must but this was something else. Feel like I just came from a Time Share Sales demo. That's my take. Still entertaining if you were bored, but would have been much better if they had just delivered a full movie than what they did here. The thing about faith is...don't be scammy about it. It prob will scare more people off and only attract those that are already fully onboard. Would love to hear what others think. Angel Studios doesn't only release Christian films, and I don't believe this is one from what I've read.

Once you see the Neal McDonaugh guy as the lead it's definitely going to be a religious movie.

Wed #
Interstellar 2024 Re-release $1,269,453 +12.1% 321 $3,954 $15,049,053
Already surpassed Kraven and #3 behind only Wicked and Moana.
If they kept Interstellar around through the holidays probably would do $40M from this re-release the way things are going!
Also, annual tally from Mojo now passed $8B! $8,007,924,600

 Re: December 20-22 Predictions
Mufasa previews looking like finishing around Elemental levels. Pretty mediocre number.
I dont have Sonic data yet but even its not finishing with a flourish but sales are already at a high level.

 Re: December 20-22 Predictions
I was looking yesterday and overall the last time we had these calendar dates (2019) overall a larger than majority of films disappointed in their opening weekends. It's so close to Christmas so deferred box office Christmas onward seemed to be even more pronounced.
Sonic has been in the $58-72M range for the last two films so that seems like a reasonable spot to be near the high end of that going into Christmas.
Mufasa from a $35M OW I can still see going a 6 or 7X multiplier so i think it will be fine but still so much $$$ left on the table if the last film was better received.
