I think it's too early for a HP reboot. Maybe late 2020s would've been fine but idk.

It won’t premiere till like 2025 at least and maybe as late as 2026.

It’s exciting that we might get a more detailed adaptation, but half the characters will be gender or race swapped lol

A BtVS reboot without Joss Whedon that has Buffy in a lame supporting role to a bunch of newbies sounds like garbage.

I know many people still baselessly consider Joss to be some horrible monster because he occasionally yelled on set and quoted Shakespeare at people (the horror!), but he is far and away the biggest reason for any BtVS greatness and trying to emulate it will only result in a hollow copy with the heart and brain missing.

It's kind of hilarious how many times I've discussed this with people who pretend Joss' involvement was largely irrelevant to BtVS being beloved for decades now, as if *all* of the best episodes on various Top 10/Best of lists aren't ones he wrote & directed. Many interviews and commentary tracks from years ago also make it very clear that many/most of the great episodes where he doesn't have any official writing credit (Passion, Band Candy, Something Blue, etc.) were instances where Whedon did an uncredited punch up. Writers would mention all the time how fans would tell them their favorite bits and lines from episodes they'd written, only for Jane Espenson, Douglas Petrie, David Fury, or whoever else to let them know it was actually Joss who wrote that part.

So yeah, this reboot seems like a recipe for failure.
