Why not. I am in as well. Teaser was very effective. Emotions of a teen is very complex and nuanced. There is tons of potential in it.

In. The original was already at $90,440,272 so with 9 years of inflation and a 3% increase in ticket prices by next summer from 2023 would be at $116.2M OW adjusted.

I'd say this could even by $200M OW. Read these stats:

-Biggest launch of any in the Disney's history, unseating 2019’s Frozen 2 with an astounding 157 million views in just 24 hours.
-TikTok 78M views in 24 hours.

This feels like it's pulling an Incredibles based on this reception. May be my favorite to win the year now as Joker / DP3 R ratings won't be able to pull as many as Inside Out 2 with young 20 somethings particularly nostalgic on the original 9 years earlier.

$600M+ seems like it could happen if the quality is there.

Yes, I think it has shot up to be the No.1 contender for the yearly crown. Seems to be an Incredibles 2 Redux.

The Incredibles 2 adjusted OW will be at $216.8M. That was with a 14 year gap between films.

I think Inside Out 2 having a 9 year gap is definitely more advantageous.

Given that the trailer and TikTok views are surpassing even Frozen 2 and breaking records for Disney, Inside Out 2 seems all but assured to get to #2 OW ever for Pixar passing Finding Dory's $135.1M.

It will need $182.7M to beat Incredibles 2 unadjusted. The hype certainly feels there.

I think another of those endearing sequels that would also pop for Pixar is Up 2. People seem to love that one! It's also Pixar's biggest movie after Inside Out 2 comes out that won't yet have a sequel.

Lol this is probably their strongest film in their whole upcoming slate. It's a very wanted sequel to a truly beloved smash hit film. Trailer already breaking records.

So at CinemaCon Disney is showing a whopping 35 min of Inside Out. The first film was 1 hr 35 min.

This seems to reflect a huge show of confidence to show possibly 1/3 to 1/4 of an entire film!

Feels like a positive sign for it and hoping for an Incredibles 2 type jump.

Or the quality is there but need to increase buzz/awareness following Elemental's run and Pixar's brand tarnishing post Covid. Hopeful of it being a good sign but feels like showing 35 min of a movie is pretty big.

Out. Legs, sure, but not such a huge opening.

This very well may play as a cross demo event film now to an even greater extent. BB4 is rated R so literally everyone else needs a movie to see and Inside Out 2 has the perfect release date. It's almost the exact opposite of Elemental's situation which had weekend 3 of Spider-verse, weekend 2 of Transformers, and 4 for Mermaid and against The Flash with IJ4 a week later. The chance of this club happening statistically is greatly favored by May's wash out.

I still think Pixar trained too many people to watch at home

I think it will open very big and if its as good as the first then win the summer.

I just don't believe the first is a beloved Pixar film. Elemental existing also doesn't help. It'll make money but not as much as some hope. Just in that usual CG animated ballpark.

Yeah, I'd say Inside Out 2 has no chance then.

The marketplace just isn't there anymore. Only for special movies. Not cash-in animated sequels.

Despicable Me 4 will beat it

I hope not. Despicable Me 3 only made 270m and was general considered meh. Inside Out made 356m and was beloved.

Yes! Go DM4!! Even if it is Quorum.

The marketing has kicked in here with billboards etc - timing is right for the release in 3 weeks. Whereas Inside Out peaked their outdoor campaign a month ago which is early for its release in 2 weeks.

I still think a win for IO2 is an opening around the first one. Any more than that is probably out of reach. Disney is wounded as a brand so that will hurt somewhat plus many families (and teens/adults) may also wait for DM4 which has broader appeal.

What it has going for it is the empty marketplace and the need/want for a major tentpole.

Full disclosure: I fell asleep during the first one so have no anticipation for this one so that may be clouding my judgement.

Id think DM4 could be more appealing for kids but have little appeal to adults compared to Inside Out.
