 Barbie $500M, Oppenheimer $400M Club I don't necessarily 100% believe in this yet myself but I like the narrative of something possibly topping Spider-verse and feels like Barbie may be the only film that can do it left.
Also just want to get everyone's view on just how big this can go.
Some of the Twilight movies adjust to $350M+ and Hunger Games was also a massive franchise with multiple $400M+ movies.
This is a big long shot but might as well go for it.

Also wouldn't count out Wish. Elemental is putting in work to repair the damage to the Disney animated studios.
Marvels could squeek over too though I'd still have it below at the moment. Disney should wait until early October to put Guardians 3 on Plus. Would be the best marketing Marvels could get at no extra cost.

Re: Barbie $400M Club INN. Presales are uber strong. Seeing 120m OW at this point. 400m requires not a crazy multi for sure. Plus this is a Gerwig movie. Wont be a Twilight level product. This is also not as saturated a release as Hunger Games due to Oppenheimer. So I am expecting a good run through the summer.

Re: Barbie $400M Club Reviews from the premiere last night are getting out and it seems that Barbie will live up to the hype. Ryan Gosling in particular seems to steal every scene he's in. After all the great work he's done, would be something to see him get closest to an Oscar by playing Ken with all his ken-ergy. I have seen Barbie! The craftsmanship is incredible. In particular the costume & production design includes next-level work that heavily contributes to creating the feeling that these truly are Barbies, their dream houses, and their worlds come to life.
As for the story, that’s where I’m a bit more mixed. I think the film serves Margot Robbie’s Barbie and her journey especially well, but there are other characters experiencing important arcs that needed more screen time to really dig into and explore to the fullest.
I can't officially quit Twitter before telling you all that #Barbie is currently my favorite film of the year. Greta Gerwig somehow exceeded my expectations. She tackles the positives and negatives of Barbie so beautifully. Give Ryan Gosling an Oscar nomination, I'm dead serious!
BarbieTheMovie is witty, heartfelt, and downright fun at times. Ryan Gosling is a scene stealer delivering most of the laughs while Margot Robbie’s heartfelt performance will tug at your heartstrings. While I enjoyed most of the film the screenplay feels bloated at times.
Barbie is perfection. Greta Gerwig delivers a nuanced commentary on what it means to be a woman in a whimsical, wonderful and laugh-out-loud funny romp. The entire cast shines, especially Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in roles they were clearly born to play.
A lot of us strive to be “perfect” like Barbie, but the film will show you don’t always have to be so perfect, because even in a “perfect world,” we still have flaws and that’s okay. It’s for teens and an adult crowd who grew up with the franchise.
BarbieMovie / BarbieTheMovie is everything you wouldn’t expect from the series. It peels the layers off the superficial doll we all grew up with while showing how Ken is more than an asset and is figuring his identity out.
I saw #BarbieTheMovie and Greta Gerwig left me all in my feelings as did the production design, costumes, Hair and makeup! I was living for the dance numbers led by Simu Liu ! It’s overblown fun with a feminist twist BarbieMovie

If tracking services are saying $93m almost two weeks out, it's very difficult to imagine an opening less than $100m at this point.

Re: Barbie $400M Club I cannot believe that I am writing this, but this has transcended pop culture all fronts in a way that hasn't happened since 2018's BLACK PANTHER. It is definitely bordering on pop phenom territory. Humongous presales and now glowing reviews...feels like the mega overperformer we have been waiting for is here. While all of this would have translated to $200m+ opening in 2019, no about it will be a bit lower in 2023.
$135m opening weekend, $480m total.

Re: Barbie $400M Club Tracking services are crap. It's pre-sales pace is stronger than any movie seen recently including MCU movies. Of course MCU day 1 pre-sales were way stronger. It's looking at high teens previews or more. This club looks inevitable.
