 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
A24's got another art house breakout
Forth best PTA of the decade behind just Licorice Pizza, Beau is Afraid, and No Way Home. Pretty amazing for a director's debut film with no major stars, just strong reviews and some compelling marketing. Hope it expands well over the coming weeks (I saw it at a festival screening last month and loved it).

Bold decision to estimate only a 16% decrease for Sunday, but it is a family film and WOM is already fire, I think it can stay above $120M at least.

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
Fast needs a 3.3 multiplier from this weekend on to get to $150M. Feels like its going to miss it. Universal will probably give it a boost later to get it there if its close.
GOTG3 is at a 2.73 multiplier so looks set for $350M+.
Boogeyman did as well as you could expect against a $120M opener with huge demo overlap. Probably would have cleared $20M opening on another weekend.
Mermaid needs a 3.80 multiplier to get to $300M. If it stabilizes quickly and can hold against The Flash/Elemental should be able to do it but far from a lock. Still looks good for $250M+.
Spidy was really frontloaded but we've had some leggy runs from well received comic movies in the past so lets see how it holds up. $300M+ still looks good with summer weekdays.

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
Spider Verse opening weekend is great but was still more front loaded than expected. Hopefully it can still hold well and be the summers first 400m grosser with its amazing wom and summer weekdays.
Little Mermaid looks like a weekday strong, weekend weak kind of movie, so it still might get to 300m.
Boogeyman can maybe get to 40m with that. Not great not terrible.

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
More frontloaded than expected after the way the Friday numbers kept going up and up. Still, the demographic numbers suggest it has a lot of room to grow amongst whites and women, so legs should be great and I think just a hair over $400M is the most likely outcome.

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
We are into summer now. Family movies dont increase that much on Saturday but Sunday drops will be very soft. I think low teens drop today will happen. Weekdays will also be uber strong.

Lol I blocked ERC since his tweets during 2020 were so obnoxious.
TLM's international drop was actually very good, too bad the start was so low.

http://twitter.com/GiteshPandya/status/ ... 34151?s=20Spidey updated to 120.65. Amazing sunday indeed. Its going to have a great Monday today as well. I see even early Imax/PLF shows selling very well and evening shows are doing great. Summer weekdays would be great to see.

Legs should be good. 2.5 multiplier would be $300m but I'm expecting a very strong multiplier.

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
Top 5 all went up and Mermaid went up $800K from estimates for $41.4M. It's Sunday was bigger than its Friday. It needs a 3.73X multiplier to get to $300M so feels like it's got a strong shot with the additional Sunday boost.

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
Little Mermaid has no competition besides Elemental and Ruby Gilman for kids, both of which look DOA. I see it hitting 300m. Spider Verse was its biggest obstacle

 Re: Spider-verse 2 Dailies
Elemental could be generous to it too with double features too possibly?
At least domestically, TLM is now a big win. No doubts about it with this hold.
