Think Oppenheimer should move to August. They can probably open fine against each other but to split the premium screens won't help

Barbie is such a wildcard but it's continuing to get a lot of interest on socials and stuff like SNL that I do wonder if it can pull a Wonder Woman surprise type run. It's such a wildcard but the whimsicalness of the movies that have been resonating with audiences so far this year seems like campiness could do well as light entertainment.

As big as Mario is, if Barbie somehow pulls a megabreakout it would arguably be the biggest WTF box office moment of the year.

What would you say WTF for Barbie is? $200m? $300m?

This will have a huge opening at this point I think. Hopefully Gerwig doesn’t go overboard with the patriarchy commentary as is rumored and it can have nice holds as well.

New trailer is very good. I really feel like this is gonna be huge.

I heard Aqua at the end!!! Seems like they finally buried the hatchet and so needed to happen before the movie's release.

Yeah this is the best trailer yet. The soundtrack is also stacked and the listing was announced today with Dua Lipa, Lizzo, and lots more.

Feel the news cycle is really heavy and this feels like lighthearted fun.

I think this has a chance for $250M+. Feel like it's going to get a 4X multiplier type film driven by wom if people are initially turned off to see a "Barbie" movie.

Feels like it could become a watercooler zeitgeist type movie if it ends up being really good.

I feel a bigger opening moreso than legs on this one, though it’s release date gives it a chance at summer weekdays padding a harsh second weekend drop.

I see it getting good critics reviews but being divisive among audiences

A rapper sampling Aqua like the Doja Elvis thing would make sense

I'm still mixed on whether the real world scenes will be as good as the Barbie world ones.

This has to be the most original and creative major project greenlit in forever. I respect the hell out of WB for actually making this even if I have no interest in seeing it.

$55M OW is my prediction.

It's too pink to attract anymore than two of the quadrants. But there will be curiosity, so I see a larger opening with poor legs.

Barbie presales are starting next week. We will know if its just internet hype or is there something more.

Aside from internet hype, I wasn't sure if this would be capped due to stronger appeal to female demos, but TLM looking to cruise to $300M at this point makes me a lot more bullish on Barbie. For a movie people want to see, they can turn in some big box office. The escapism feel to it will be very appealing as well.

Eh unless there's Dolby showings on sale I doubt presales will be that strong since Oppenheimer has Imax.

Based on social media, it has strong fan following. Irrespective of the format I am expecting big start. Its also extremely likely to get Dolby and will have XD/RPX screens(or share them) with Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer has had a very good presales start at Imax and 70mm shows. Its actually running ahead of Indy at equivalent point :-)

Barbie is an iconic brand that's 64 years old so feel the curiosity factor will play in its favor like it did for Mario too.

Tom cruise was scared of it. I see this over performing and Oppenheimer underperforming at this point

Oppenheimer underperforming is off the table. it has stronger presales than indy 5 at this point :-)

I’m expecting the two films to combine to $120-130m OW - probably more.
