Re: Shazam! Fury of the Gods predictions
The Flash will do well because of Batman, and it looks (and is apparantly) good.
I think pretty much everything went wrong. Many options rn, the first is well liked but not really passionate about, reviews were not good.. etc etc

Re: Shazam! Fury of the Gods predictions
Even with half the budget of a major tentpole these days, it's still going to lose WB money.
Aquaman 2, reportedly, has a budget of $205 million. It's obviously going to drop domestic, but its overseas number is going to be way down in comparison. It might be able to break even, and I doubt that any profit it possibly makes will be significant.
The Flash apparently has a budget close to $300 million. Yeah, that's almost certainly losing money, or best case, going to produce a miniscule profit if it's a perfect storm of appeal.
Hopefully after this WB gets things under control.

The Flash is probably gonna make a billion and bail them out of all their bad decisions.

WB notoriously handles franchises poorly: Superman/Batman (Except TDK) Hobbit, Matrix, Fantastic Beasts, Godzilla, Clash of the Titans, Hangover, Lego Movie, Exorcist, Tomb Raider, Space Jam, etc all disappointed as the series went on. The handful of ones I can think of Potter, Lethal Weapon, and maybe Ocean's Eleven, and Conjuring universe. The less control they have is when they do ok. Dune II has the misfortune of being under them.

And TDK was because of Nolan keeping tight control of it. Potter is probably their only real success. Not sure how much control Rowling used to maintain its steady course. Or maybe it was just such a hot property that no matter how bad the films were (are, hehe) they would've still exploded every November.

Re: Shazam! Fury of the Gods predictions
WB had little involvement after part 2. Like TDK, they let the directors do their thing. They gave Snyder way too much control on the other hand

Yes TDK was all Nolan and I tend to think Potter would have done as well or better at any studio.
