 No Hard Feelings predictions
Hm...
The premise is kinda icky and I'm not sure how this will do but it'd be nice to see an R-Rated comedy renaissance after the Apatow one kinda died.

 Re: No Hard Feelings predictions
Wow that looks unfunny. It's also a turn off to see a female acting slutty, and hitting on a 19 year old that looks like a 15 year old.

 Re: No Hard Feelings predictions
This looks like a Trainwreck (not like that movie) but it might work if it is 10X camp.
I definitely felt creeped out even watching the trailer but feel like it's a gender swap of She's All That much raunchier so it may have appeal to some audiences to be a midsized hit.
Female demographics over the summer are regularly underserved and there have been some big breakouts that work well for counterprogramming.
If it flops, Laurence may want to consider an appearance in the Hunger Games prequel somehow?

It looks horrible. I was never the biggest fan of JLaw but 4x Oscar nominee and 1x winner being used like this just feels wrong.

+Poor Matthew Broderick. Ferris showed what a comedic genius he is and feel like he could be doing so much better. I would rather he do a Ferris reboot in vein of TGM. Then we watch as it makes $400M+ over this.

My husband once wrote a comedy screenplay and it was sent to a multiple awards winning actress here in Germany who did a lot of serious dramas. Her reaction? "Finally someone sent me a comedy script, I'm so tired of doing all those dramas" and immediately agreed to star in the movie...

 Re: No Hard Feelings predictions
Lawrence's filmography has been quietly dire since Hunger Games and her David O Russell collaboration ended, so I think doing a hard career reset with a goofy R-rated comedy is perfectly fine. It's from the director of Good Boys, which also took a potentially icky setup and made it into something that audiences enjoyed, so I think this has potential to be decent and a hit. The biggest issue could be that it opens only two weeks after Strays, another R-rated comedy that also has breakout potential, so hopefully they don't hurt each other.

 Re: No Hard Feelings predictions
I couldn't imagine Strays hurting this at all. It doesn't even feel part of the same target audience.

He’s 19, and an adult and she can feel free to hook up if she wants to lol. This looks so funny and I can’t wait! Love to see a comedy on the big screen

 Re: No Hard Feelings predictions
Train wreck had Amy Schumer hook up with an in canon underage Ezra Miller (he was of age, but still), and that was still successful

I’m already tired of the discourse on the internet tbh-not from you but from people on Twitter or the like. I agree that it’s a bit icky that parents would try and do this for their kid but the man is an adult and can make his own decisions. And we don’t know if they end up hooking up in the movie

 Re: No Hard Feelings predictions
This could actually carve out a decent summer gross. It opens on a “breather” summer weekend between tent poles so it has a chance to succeed. I wouldn’t write it off just yet.
Strays could hurt it if it’s a major breakout but both are likely to coexist.

Looks like a blast. I'm excited to see Lawrence in a fun role like this.

Sure, she can do whatever she likes, and people can judge her however they like.
