$45M / $120M ish for Creed. The second relied too much on nostalgia for Rocky 4. This is almost like another reboot for the series.

What is this Demon Slayer movie though? Season 2 still isn't up on netflix. Is this directly following Mugen Train?

Creed sales look good to me. Small imax only screenings on monday and wednesday has lot more shows. I think its opening to at least 40m and could go even higher.

Yeah about $35m is the floor for Creed and $40m likely. Scream should open similarity too.

From the marketing I've seen alone I expect Creed III to do more than $40m. I'm going with $45 million. It's everywhere.

From what I was seeing and expecting from Creed III before, it made me pessimistic about it. But indeed, with the marketing push and good reviews, I now think its going to open to more than 35m with ease.

Honestly I had been skeptical of how well Creed would do because it's been a minute since the last one, and the reception on the last one seemed like a muted "it's fine," but the sales a week out in my area are impressively strong, and yeah reviews should help it as well. Not sure I would go as high as $40M+ just yet, but it's not impossible

Creed III - $32 million
Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre - $6 million

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania -55%
Cocaine Bear -46%
Jesus Revolution -43%

Post Re: March 3-5 Predictions
Operation Fortune suddenly has commercials on ESPN every other break. With proper marketing, it could have been a $25m/$80m movie last August. Really botched the release.

Josh Hartnett being center stage in the marketing - both in terms of clips and throwing his name around - is also a bit surreal to see considering its been....16 years since he last headlined/co-headlined a true wide release & this film probably has the largest budget of anything he has done in 20 years? :funny:

Yeah I don't really get it.

Quote:
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village-" will show Entertainment District Arc Episodes 10 and 11 featuring the fierce battle between Tanjiro, Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, and their comrades against Upper Six, Daki and Gyutaro in theaters for the first time. Swordsmith Village Arc Episode 1, featuring the encounter of Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji at their newly assigned dispatch location and Upper Rank Demons assembled at the Infinity Castle, will also be shown for the first time.

So episodes 10 and 11 people have already seen just not in a theater before?

The Demon Slayer movie was big. Why is this new whatever it is only showing one/two times a day at a lot of theaters?

It's a recap of the last 2 episodes of Season 2 from last year, followed by the premiere of the first episode of Season 3 which debuts in April.

It's not an actual movie.

Demon Slayer has no previews but friday presales is crazy strong. I am now thinking around 15m+ OW and finishing in top 2. Very impressive indeed.

Creed has got Tmobile/Atom deal($5 ticket) and so expect even bigger boost. I think 50m is possible.

Creed 3 reviews are crazy good. I can see it closer to 50 million with how good pre sales and WOM will be.

Creed has imax previews on Wednesday so that should skew it’s previews number up and give it a weaker preview/od multiple

Looks like CREED III is an overachiever in France and Germany - a good sign for domestic?

There is healthy buzz around Creed III which contrasts with the second film which seemed to have just been there yet still earn a healthy sum. Majors breaking out recently doesn't hurt.

Low 40s is still the best bet

The way it is behaving in Germany and France I would think something close to $60m domestic...

France had 250K OD admits and cine-directors are calling for 1.2 million OW admits. There is a holiday that has boosted BO.
My question was around Germany OW. So is it something like 600K OW admits?

The public finally saying NO to a Marvel movie... could this be the beginning of the end?
