Re: Pearl
Mia Goth is fantastic in this. Overall a surprisingly very good film, impressive how this was made right after X.

Re: Pearl
I definitely liked it more than X. Loved the homage to classic Hollywood films. The technicolor looks stunning. Mia Goth gives a great performance. This movie is a breath of fresh air compared to the horror films we typically see released to the masses.

Re: Pearl
I'm a little torn on this film. I mean, X is better. Pearl isn't bad, but it's just the four kills and thus isn't as fun. But it acts as a nice addendum to the franchise, kind of like a feature-length DVD extra. I definitely appreciated the World War I small town simpleton vibe and wannabe starlet aesthetic, costuming, and production design of the period. One thing that I am sure of is that Mia Goth is a fantastic actress. I actually felt sorry for her in the end credits. It almost feels like torture - you can just imagine Ti behind the camera forcing her to do one more take to make it longer and longer.
It's shot deliciously, as you expect from West. But it's also refreshing (after Terrifier 2) to get a horror that's staged and paced so well, too, and with a worthwhile story. Although I did feel Pearl's monologue was a tad long.

Re: Pearl
One of the best movies of the year. It looks gorgeous and Mia Goth gives my favorite performance of the year so far.

Re: Pearl
I think it'd be worth seeing for people who haven't seen X. For myself, anything I needed to know about Pearl I already learned in X which makes this kind of unnecessary. Goth is great though. The end credits smile/stare almost redeemed the movie for me.

Re: Pearl
I liked this more than X. The style is on point. Was the Harold at the end the same as her husband in X? Interesting to know that he comes home to that scene and is OK with it.
