Bad Guys should hold well for all of May so $100m may be in play? Not bad tbh.

Fantastic Beasts... truly embarassing. May miss $100m.

Go EEAAO whoooo

As long as Bad Guys finishes the weekend over $25M it should top $100M. It'll hold well next weekend thanks to zero competition, and probably hold well the weekend after thanks to being the #2 Mothers Day option after Lost City, and from there it should be able to linger at multiplexes as the #1 option for kids until Lightyear in its 8th weekend. Also, it would be the first non-sequel animated film to top $100M since Into the Spider-Verse!

I'm so happy for EEAAO's insane over-performance. Proof that word-of-mouth still means something in this crazy world.

Can't tell what's worse, Fantastic Beasts or Morbius. :grrr:

Bad Guys did great and EEAAW continues to take full advantage of the light market.

Everything Everywhere is doing really terrific. Hoping it continues chugging along passes $50m, hopefully A24 postpones its digital release.

Fantastic Beasts overseas #s are not that bad. It may do $400m butnot passing $100m US would be a disaster.

Unbearable Weight I feel was never gonna do over $10m.

On a related note, congrats to Morbius which has yet to pass $70M in its 4th weekend off of a $39M OW. :funny:

Shocked the Northman didn't do better. Its showings were full around me. Maybe it's one of those movies connecting in coastal cities but not middle america

I'm really surprised too. I wanted to go Friday night but it was sold out on the super screen. I wasn't going to watch it on a regular screen so I saw Unbearable Weight instead. That one was actually pretty full too (though it wasn't on nearly as big a screen as Northman) and I'd say half the audience applauded when it was over. Hopefully legs for that are good.

Northman had no marketing, not surprised.

I saw The Northman trailer in front of every movie other than Sonic for the last few months. It had stranger social media impressions and trailer views on YT on par with Morbius, Sonic and Fantastic Beasts. I don't think the lack of marketing was the issue.

Listen, I'm telling you this film was marketed towards me, unless it was here, I would have had no idea this film ever existed. They did not market it well. I just read the marketing budget was insanely low.

The in theater promotion was certainly very good. I too had the trailer with everything. Including The Batman which I'm sure everyone did.

I saw tons of promo for Northman, but I guess it only connected with the arthouse crowd .. who have plenty of other options right now. Dune's performance looks more impressive by the day, and it's a shame we'll never know how much it could have made without the day/date Max premiere.

Dune ended up having way more hype. It’s like all the sci-fi lovers came together to support that film and made a success.
