 March 25-27 Predictions
The Lost City- I'm gonna go crazy and predict 34m. Tatum has drawing power, to a lesser extent Bullock does, and Uncharted showed treasure hunt movies are still hot. Plus reviews are good and there's been nothing big for weeks
The Batman- -25%

I'm gonna go with $36m for Lost City. It has everything going for it.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
I'm gonna say a little below right now. It doesn't feel like the hype is quite there right now for as big a breakout as this could have been in a simpler time, but being the first major non-Batman release in five weeks will probably help it out, and reviews have been very kind as well. Legs could be good too, as it will be counter-programming for the following three weeks of franchise releases.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
Lost City $53M
Bullock did $39,115,043 with The Heat and $41,607,378 with Ocean's 13. Think Tatum and Pitt add could help this get low $50s. Could do even bigger if the lack of comedy product drives demand up.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
Older audiences being hesitant to return and the still rebuilding market after the pandemic will keep this from matching Bullock's past hits but it will still be amazing for this to cross 30m

Hopefully the Lost City can at least match Free Guy with a bigger cast, marketing campaign, and less covid.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
The Lost City should at least do high 20's but probably 30+.
My theater is also getting the Sing 2 sing-along so expect another great hold for that. Also opening is Infinite Storm which looks to be kind of wide. And we're getting Encanto back for the third damn time.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
I think Lost City is being a tad over-predicted. $30-$35m would be insanely great for it. I'll go with $34m.

Not sure who the hell would want to go to a sing-along.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
Why did they order a singalong for the only family movies 1 week before a trio of three family movies open when an empty family market for 3 months?? Could they not have done this sooner to bring families back for repeat viewings while we waiting for more product?
Also, another factor in The Lost City's favor, apparently Bullock has said she's stepping away from acting for a few years for family reasons. This one could be the last major film for her for a few years which might bring out more folks.

 Re: March 25-27 Predictions
Keep an eye out for RRR to break out this weekend, the followup movie from the director of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the highest grossing Indian movie of all time in America. Don't know the theater count, but judging from the theaters it';s playing at near me it will at least be semi-wide starting tomorrow, with big surcharges ($20-35 a ticket!). Pre-sales vary theater-to-theater, but the IMAX screen near me has 6:00pm and 10:05pm screening with $30 tickets that are about 75% full already. Not enough data out there for the prediction, but depending on how frontloaded it is top 5 debut seems to be in play?
