Spiderman as he's easier for people to connect with, but it's closer than I would have thought. What helps Batman is he easily has the best rogue gallery. Spiderman's is probably 2nd. This may be what prevents Superman from doing better in film as outside of Lex nobody really cares about the other guys.

Homecoming, Far From Home and No Way Home should have asterisk cause of the heavy MCU involvement without that they'd have normal box office like the first 3 Tobey films

I'm not gonna say either for now but Spider-Man's box office legacy is really something. TASM seemed like such a misfire and in turn that series helped propel NWH and Garfield has grown to be a fan favorite.

Re: Spider Man vs Batman: Who is a bigger box office star?
These alternate but fascinating to watch:
Late 70s early 80s: Superman Late 80s to mid 90s: Batman Early 00's to late 00s: Spiderman + Xmen Late 00s to early 10s: MCU + Batman Mid 10s to 20s: MCU Early 20's: Spiderman + MCU Mid 20's: ?
Feel out of all of these, Xmen is due for a major comeback once it joins up with MCU in the mid 20's.

Are you kidding me They were marketed as part of the MCU with each having MCU characters as co-stars. Doesn't matter how small the roles are. HC/FFH/NWH are NOT "solo Spider-Man" films. They are "MCU" films. That's HUGE advantage in it's favor. HUGE!

Are you implying that Happy Hogan and Nick Fury sell tickets to Spider-Man movies?

Re: Spider Man vs Batman: Who is a bigger box office star?
If Sony wasn't so dependent on the aura of the MCU to help the Spiderman movies, they wouldn't have let Disney take a huge cut of their earnings. Disney and Sony knew this was the case! Quote: Moneywise, Sony kept 95% of the box office revenue while Marvel kept 100% of the merchandising profits. Then, in 2019, Disney negotiated a 50/50 box office take with Sony, as well as split the film funding 50/50.

Spider-Man. The original wiped the floor with every Batman movie up to that point especially worldwide.

Re: Spider Man vs Batman: Who is a bigger box office star?
The Raimi trilogy was way bigger than the original Burton/Schumacher run of Batman films. The Amazing Spider-Man films were hurt by being so derivative while the Nolan trilogy was super different from the original run.

How long before Disney buys DC comics and makes this a reality?

Rev is right. Spider Man gets a huge leg up for being attached to the MCU brand
