 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
Nice! It'll probably drop about the same next week, but then level out and have a very nice run through March and early April.

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
Very solid drop for both Uncharted and Dog. Drops next weekend will probably be harsh but stabilize for the rest of the month.
Bring on next week!!

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
The only reason I haven't checked out Unchartered is because it feels like Sony basically showed the entire movie in the trailer. Am I wrong?

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
Weekend:
Uncharted $23.25M (-45%), $83.39M. Dog $10.1M (-32%), $30M Spider-man $5.75M (-23%), $779.89M. Death on the Nile $4.50M, $32.75M. SCREAM $1.3M (-31%), $79M JACKASS FOREVER $3.1M (-39%), $52M Sing 2 $2.11M (-26%), $151.20M Studio 666 $2 million Marry Me $1.85M (-50%), $20.21M Cyrano $1.4M Godfather $900k (156 theaters), $5,769 avg THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD $421k $1.8M
Dog dropping just 32% despite an inflated Sunday last weekend is very impressive. This looks like it will be a sleeper hit and be around for a while.

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
The only other $10+ million opener of the last two years to have a better second weekend hold than Dog was Sing 2, whose second weekend was New Year's. So, that hold is pretty incredible. Considering Batman is basically the only serious wide release over the next three weekends, it should be able to leg out to a $60+ million total. Big, big win for MGM and Tatum.

Given how bankable Sandra Bullock has been and remains popular as well as Tatum pulling a small obscure film to $60M or $70M a month earlier, on top of the being the first big comedy tentpole in ages, I'm seeing MAJOR breakout for The Lost City. Would not be shocked by $150M run potentially given how depressing the world has been the market is starved for a high profile comedy movie.

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
Yeah Tatum is going to hit again with the Lost City, though I'm predicting bad reviews. Is being in exotic locale good for post COVID? Too bad Sandler is tied to Netflix as this would be the perfect time for him to get a theatrical hit with some random vacation comedy, though Murder Mystery 2 will probably do well.

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
I wouldn't be surprised if Lost City reviews were pretty warm, tbh. Marry Me barely has a fresh rating, folks are probably rooting for the return of the romcom, and Bullock has always had more prestige than Lopez.

 Re: Friday/Weekend Numbers
You know the ironic thing to that. Obviously Bullock's appeal has always been quite great. Outside of While You Were Sleeping, not one of her romantic films have ever gotten good reviews. Even Miss Congeniality is in the 40s somewhere. The consensus is almost always she is a star, elevates the material to watchable, which isn't a bad thing (That's literally how Michael Caine survived the 80s and 90s), because these films aren't for critics really. This will no doubt get unfavorably compared to Romancing the Stone.
