 2022 Predictions Top 10
What will be the top 10 movies of 2022?
1. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 650m 2. Avatar 2 550m 3. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 450m 4 Spider Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One 400m 5. Thor: Love and Thunder 390m 6. Jurassic World: Dominion 350m 7. Lightyear 340m 8. The Batman 330m 9. Mission: Impossible 7 225m 10. Top Gun: Maverick 220m
I think Aquaman will move to 2023.

 Re: 2022 Predictions Top 10
Is Top Gun really gonna be an uber smash? Idk maybe I'm just underestimating its popularity but I highly doubt it'll do more than like NTTD.
I really feel like Black Panther is moving but yeah I think it's between that and Avatar for #1 unless Doctor Strange ends up being crazy hyped like No Way Home.
I think your top 8 films look about right,
I'll go with 1. Avatar 2 2. Black Panther 2 3. Doctor Strange 2 4. The Batman 5. Thor 4 6. Jurassic World 3 7. Aquaman 2 8. Lightyear 9. Across the Spider-Verse Part 1 10. The Flash
They should move either Aquaman or Flash to 2023, having them so close together isn't a good idea.

Black Panther ranked Fandango's most anticipated list. Think it's the frontrunner and can see it do $700M+. Will act as a tribute and is an instant zeitgeist movie.

 Re: 2022 Predictions Top 10
I picked Thor in the draft cause it seemed like the safest bet. Assuming it has the Guardians in it for a decent chunk then it should have a healthy improvement on Ragnarok. Strange got a major bump from Spider-Man though, which I was not counting on.
1. Doctor Strange - $175M opening / $450-500M 2. Thor - $150M opening / $400-450M 3. Batman - $150M / $350M 4. Jurassic World - $130M / $302M 5. Aquaman - $70M / $300M 6. Across the Spiderverse - $90M / $250M 7. Flashpoint - $90M / $215M 8. Uncharted - $70M / $180M 9. Mission Impossible - $60M / $170M 10. Lightyear - $45M / $160M
Probably way off on some of these. Lightyear in particular is very hard to nail down. In a normal year I'd have it at about $300M but family films have been way down during the Pandemic Era. If Turning Red flops then you can bet there will be a very quick turnaround for the Disney Plus release on all their animated projects going forward.

Top Gun is more likely to flop than go over 200 imo
I drafted Black Adam pretty high, The Rock and superhero movie is a great combination

Turning Red will do well over 100m domestic and 300m WW if they don’t F it over with a d&d release on streaming. Regardless, Lightyear will do way better.

 Re: 2022 Predictions Top 10
I feel like Avatar 2 could flop badly relative to expectations (like, $200m total) especially if it faces COVID: Episode IX
It will have been 13 years....does anyone care anymore?

Avatar 2 has the biggest range ever. It could beat the Force Awakens or make 250 mil.

 Re: 2022 Predictions Top 10
There will need to be something big to draw people in. And I don't know what they could be? What's the next step in filmmaking or revolutionary effects? Is the sequel (or sequels) going to feature never-before-seen or new technology not seen in films so far?
Simply being the "sequel to Avatar, the $2 billion movie!" isn't going to cut it, I don't think, because the original, while enjoyed by most people, isn't exactly "loved" or remembered as a classic film by many. I've heard people over the years say stuff along the lines of, "yeah, Avatar is a good movie", but that's a pretty generic response for most movies, really.

 Re: 2022 Predictions Top 10
Eh... never underestimate James Cameron lol. I think it'll do big numbers for curiosity and it's even been enough time that nostalgia may even be a factor lol
If it's same ol same ol though I don't know about the other 3 they're aupposed to release
