Sexy. Harsher drop than Force Awakens though less kids are out of school then they were. Today should increase.

The Force Awakens first Monday: $40.1 million
No Way Home first Monday: $37.1 million (estimate)

It appears No Way Home is more front-loaded than the Force Awakens. I see The Force Awakens catching up to No Way Home by the end of the second weekend ($540 million) because of Omicron and No Way Home is a recent sequel to 2019's Far From Home.

NWH will have a depressed Friday so its third weekend hold should be much stronger than TFA. So it might pass it this weekend but should make up ground week 3.

The rest of the month will be interesting. I think the rush to see NWH to avoid spoilers will show in it's holds for the next couple of weeks, definitely don't expect it to hold like TFA.

There was no rush to avoid spoilers for TFA?

NWH and TFA seem directly comparable to me in terms of appeal. I’d say it’s Omicron panic in NYC and LA if it starts holding way worse.

But Idk I guess we haven't seen an MCU release during Christmas so we'll see.

It's doing fine. People are way too worried. All it needs to do is pass Avatar so it does not need to hold like TFA. There is Matrix coming this Wednesday which will also impact it a little bit in comparison due to premium screen sharing.

I think that's slightly higher than what I thought it would make which is great.

It'll be hard to really gauge where it will end, I mean even comparing it to TFA or Avatar is kind of stretch even in normal times. This could very well drop extremely bad to everyone trying to see it now before it's too late. For Spoilers for film fans and fear of the virus for regular people. Infinity War failed to hit 700 million. At this point, let's hope for 600 million, everything else is gravy.

With this opening and the release date missing $700m would be bad. It should claim the biggest "solo" superhero movie title from Black Panther if it crosses that mark.

Of course it would be bad, but you’ll go on about your day.

There is no guarantee this has a Christmas type run at this point. We’ll just have to wait and see and not be disappointed whatever it does. I think it’s already proved itself, no?

Agree with zwackerm on this one. It’s not like TFA weekend wasn’t a massive fan rush event.
