Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
I think the character of Venom is so popular that it propelled the first to solid legs and WOM despite poor reviews.
I'm feeling people will be curious to see Carnage and venom in the same movie. A slight drop from the first to 55-60m OW

I hated the first but it was a WoM hit so this I've should do well but hopefully not too big. I think $40m OW for $100m total.

I think an opening in the 50s sounds about right. Gonna go with $54m. Could see a scenario where this opens close to the original but not entirely confident in that.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
I think this disappoints with the first one being a little fluky. It made 80 million opening weekend wtf? That weekend is one of the best of the last 10 years with ASIB over 40 being great too.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
Yeah I don't see it outdoing the first, but I think the decline won't be that great considering the first wasn't hated and the character is so popular.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
The first one was a crowdpleaser that completely was rejected by critics but loved by audiences. Think there will be some goodwill still with this one. It's campy but fun.
Don't see it matching the first but $150 M wouldn't surprise me.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
Finally saw a TV ad for this today.
Right now I'd consider anything over $40 million good, and $50 million+ very impressive.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
Reviews for Venom seem much better than the first film. Hopefully will be good for WOM.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
Think critics are more accepting about the silliness this time since that's what moviegoers liked so much about the first one. Some critics though... Quote: It's the worst movie Tom Hardy ever made. It's the worst movie Woody Harrelson ever made. And it's the worst movie Michelle Williams ever made.

Re: Venom: Let There Be Carnage Predictions
Venom 2 reaches the top 200 domestic all-time list, only the 2nd 2021 film to do so. Who would have predicted that?? https://www.boxofficemojo.com/chart/top ... =bo_cso_ac
