Surprise Surprise!!! He definitely completely changed the movie and made it further black to the point anything is hardly visible. Add to that he even gave Superman a "black" costume so you can only see Cavill's face

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
Yeah Those raves are laughably forced. And a lot of them have DC or Snyder in their handles
You’d hope that with 70 million and years of what they did wrong they’d be able to fix enough. I’d argue any shit film with that kind of treatment should turn out better, but why? Isn’t that just common sense

There are a lot of RT critics praising it. Even more awkwardly, consensus seems to be that Ray Fisher is the breakout star

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
75% through 94 reviews, though, to be fair, a lot of them are saying it's not necessarily a better film, but getting a pass for the entire situation of being made. I was expecting around 68%, which is nice.
What's everyone plan? I only saw Justice League once, outside of the occasional Cavil returning to life scene (which I loved) and a few other moments. I'm thinking I'm going to watch the theatrical cut again first, then go into the Snyder Cut immediately. I've done that with Donner Cut, Exorcist sequels, and even Blade Runner and Apocalypse Now, I think it's a smart way to better review it and accurately compare.

I don't think I'm ever watching Josstice League again. Assuming it's out 12am pacific I'll watch it until I'm tired and watch the rest when I wake up.

From what I’m reading they mixed the miniseries idea because it would have gotten ravaged as the chapter format doesn’t really work

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
They're not releasing it in parts because it would be a mess with contract negotiations and what not, Snyder said it in an interview. The film has chapters though so essentially you'll know how it would've been.

It’s in a 4:3 aspect ratio? Why???? Does Snyder still have a square tv?

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
The chapter thing feels like a gimmick and yes it takes time to adjust with 4:3 aspect ratio but that might possibly helpful in removing some of the background and adding graphics at cheaper cost. Overall it's superior to the theatrical cut but the bar was super low so its not a huge improvement. A lot of it works now because we are warmed up to these characters/actors. The flaws are amplified and it's even more laborious with that huge runtime.

Welp. The Snyder Cut idea has proven to be a gargantuan success. Reception has deafening around the globe.
Announce MAN OF STEEL 2 for 2023, WB. Huge!

Announce MAN OF STEEL 2 for 2023, WB. Huge! WB isn't that smart sadly. The chatter and reception about Snyder Cut is encouraging though, I could see something with HBO Max but idk what

Justice League 2 has to be back on the table right? They can’t make such a big deal about the Snyder cut then Flashpoint all his stories out of canon.

I think Affleck will not come back but the rest of the cast can come back and it's easy to pass the baton in this case because they almost showed Batfleck at the verge of retirement.

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
WB will ignore the positive feedback and instead continue to run DC into the ground as is already happening:
- They hired a total hack who's never written a script before for the next Superman which of course won't have Henry Cavill, and anyone else they cast will utterly pale in comparison.
- Yet another Batman reboot is so tired and not needed at this point and yet we're still getting Robert Pattinson Batman. The trailer looked boring as hell.
- They had zero quality control with the last Wonder Woman film and the release was botched as a sacrifice for HBO Max, so that brand is already damaged as well. WW3 isn't even a surefire smash hit at the box office even if things return to normal IMO.
- Harley Quinn movie bombed so that's out, another Suicide Squad reboot or whatever that is will clearly bomb too.
- They seem to want to stay away from Green Lantern after Reynolds movie bombed and who can blame them. Cyborg movie would be DOA and the actor is an unhinged lunatic with a Krypton-sized ego so that's out too.
So yes Man of Steel 2 would be a great idea, and Justice League 2 WITH GREEN LANTERN. Their only bright spot outside of that is Aquaman but they're taking like five years for a sequel so that's a stupid decision as well.

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
Zack Snyder fans (me included) only hope now is HBO Max. If ZSJL increases their subscription numbers by a significant amount, maybe they will let him finish his JL trilogy or even make Man of Steel 2 aka Man of Tomorrow.

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
Variety just released an article basically reiterating no continuation planned and not releasing Ayer's cut of SS. They stay clueless.
I get that it probably has more to do with the Ray Fisher drama and wanting to move on but it's hard to look forward with DC when they seem like they're just throwing doing whatever with the property.

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
I think it’s very possible that one day, perhaps soon, there will be three different Batmen in one calendar year. People like what they saw of Battinson, they have nostalgia for Keaton and now there is demand for another Batfleck Justice League.
And why not do it at all? WB has no direction for DCU and these are all possible big moneymakers.

That is absurd, he is one irrelevant actor no one cares about. No one even cares about Cyborg. Kill him off off-screen and replace him with Green Lantern who people actually want to see. "But Twitter will bitch and moan!" who gives a flying fuck.

Re: WB puts whole 2021 slate on HBO Max
given the announcement that 2022 films will not be on HBOMAX and the increased competition coming in November/December, I wonder if WB will stick with Matrix 4 in December.
I think they should push The Batman to Easter 2022 (which is currently wide open) and put Matrix 4 in first week March (or Presidents Day weekend).

Seems silly WB isn't doing Thursday previews as I think that would give some people incentive to go to the theater.

Looks like there's a shakeup with AT&T and Warner merger and this may change, with Dune looking at theatrical only window. Lol https://deadline.com/2021/05/hollywood- ... ssion=true
