Giannis was good, sure great even, but I think it was a year too soon for him. Statwise I don't think he was better than Davis in the past 3 seasons, and just playing on a better team doesn't warrant it for me. Generally I think the best player in the league period should win the MVP and LeBron doesn't have enough in that regard. This year there was little doubt for me Harden was the best player in the league.

They usually go with the Best Player on the Best Team. Westbrook and Durant were the exceptions. Even LeBron had to have the best record in 3 of his 4 winning seasons.

So even though the major markets can't bully people with an infinite salary cap like in baseball, they can still provide so many more opportunities leading to more money than they'll ever make in basketball.
