Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
i think I LOVE the backwards narrative because otherwise, I wouldn't have found this week's episode as good as I think it was. Watching Andrew break down was crear and how David and Jeff hit ir off instanstly was lol

I bought "Vulgar Favors" and read like 250 pages today. This story is fascinating to me.

What I love the most of the show is how little it is about the Versaces (Penélope Cruz doesn't come cheap I Guess) and more about his leas famous more personal murders.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Seriously, I expected Penelope Cruz to be chewing scenery for the entire season. Has she been on screen for three total minutes? Edgar Ramirez maybe five minutes? I keep saying "Oh they'll be in the remaining episodes", but they never are. I'm sure they'll be all over the last three episodes though. But I'm definitely way more interested in what they've shown so far.
And I've definitely come around on their storytelling style. It's a "big picture" kind of thing. I'd probably be anxious to rewatch the season when it's all over, though I'm not sure I can handle some of the moments again.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Did they really go with the sexual abuse cardíaca? Was Andrew really abused by his father? (The bedroom scene was Creepy af). Thanks God(ney) they did the reverse storytelling otherwise i'd be rooting for Andrew.
But bit after they showed him killing Jeff(<3) and David

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
The first episode had flashes of brilliance cinematography wise and I'm a fan of Darren Chriss so far. But I echo the concern that I'm not sure about the structural choice. Not much mystery here. I would have been more interested in this story if it started with Cunanon in 1990 and then chronologically showed his growing madness and self loathing until his murders started. But it would leave less room for showcasing actors like Cruz and Martin. Then again judging from some of the comments in this thread it appears that may be what they do starting in episode 2

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
The finale was pretty much what was expected to tie up loose ends. It felt like a bit of a letdown, but the big story was the entire season and its non-linear style. That worked very well. This just felt like the ending we expected of it and nothing more.
Is it just me, or did Ramirez, Cruz and Martin have less screen time than, say, Cody Fern, Annaleigh Ashford, Finn Wittrock, even Judith Light? I'm really surprised by how little of them was shown for the entire season.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
The final episode was meh, but I enjoyed this show a whole lot more than I expected to. Darren Criss was pretty much fantastic the entire time, but I also wish we got to see more from the characters played by Cruz, Ramirez and Martin. That whole dynamic was very interesting and showed a lot of promise early on, but they didn't really do anything with them.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
It felt like they wanted to tell Andrew's story, but the network wouldn't let them tell an entirely villainous story, so it had to be heavily advertised as The Assassination of Gianni Versace. But really, aside from the first five minutes of the premiere and parts of the finale, the stories never really converged the way I thought they would. I had no prior knowledge of the story, so I was expecting an entire history between Andrew and Gianni.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
And most of their story is disputed by the Versace family.
This was a surprise given how little they were There but Yoly fuck the supporting castillo basically has all of the emmys locked. Darren Criss may Even be an Emmy winner this time next year. He'll Penélope Cruz is gonna be nominated despiste having less than 30minutes of airtime all season.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
I'm worried Cruz will win based on name alone, when on the series itself, Judith Light should win for Supporting. I'm assuming even two appearances on the show would make her eligible for supporting.

Shack wrote: Sarah Paulson is a great scumbag so far this season It's eerie how much she looks like someone I work with. Scary resemblance actually. I'm loving the season so far. Not sure why it's getting so-so reviews. I'm not sure I ever would have had Clive Owen play Bill Clinton. But despite all the familiar faces playing familiar faces, it's a good season. Very reminiscent of Season 1. Season 2 ended up being good, but it was very disjointed. I have been wondering why Edie Falco was even in the main cast until last week's episode. Stellar performance from her.
