9. "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay

Coldplay have made great music, and a whole load of excellent songs over the years, Viva la Vida gets me into a great mood and into my skin when I hear it. It's the song that reminds me most of my first year in China, when it was released, where I experienced so many life defining moments.

8. "Fields of Gold" by Sting

I discovered this song during a summer in my teens and have since consistently kept it on my playlists when traveling. It reminds me of my past travels, trips out camping and some of my best summers.

The stuffp Fifty is my favorite of this recent plague of music lists, and it's certainly the least pretentious.

"Fast Car" is ok.

"Don't Stop Believin'" is awesome, obviously. Wish it was higher on your list.

"Bat Out of Hell" is meh.

"Viva La Vida" is perfect Coldplay. Love it.

"Fields of Gold" is a decent song that I always forget because I just can't stand Sting.

7. "Breathless" by The Corrs

Not only did I watch this music video so often when it came out, this song was released in that time when I started getting crushes on girls in high school. Thus, "Breathless" easily swooned my emotions.

6. "White Flag" by Dido

I got to know Dido through Eminem's "Stan", and once she released her album "Life for Rent" I was hooked on her music. One of my most played albums ever and "White Flag" has been on the top of my list ever since I knew it.

Haha, "Breathless". Nice enough song, and nice to hear it again after decades! Andrea Corr, fuck, what a babe.

"White Flag" is a nice song too. Two good choices here. But there are other Dido songs and collaborations that I would probably place higher than this song.

5. "Born to Try" by Delta Goodrem

Delta was my celebrity crush, love her voice. Many of her songs are among my favorite music, and this is the song that started it.

You might want to use a different video for that Goodrem song. Apparently it is not available to people in America.

Another Aussie, the song has been in my top 5 since forever. A fan of her too, often having any one of her albums on repeat.

Thanks, I was on a HK IP, and seems the Delta Vevo channel doesn't work in the US then, I've updated the link.

This song was consistently played when hanging out with my friends in my teenage years, high nostalgic value. Great lyrics, love the song.

Imbruglia was such a fucking babe. Perfect face. She was a decent singer too. Wonder what happened to her.

"Summer of 69" is meh.

Looking forward to your top two. That list of 48 could have waited until after two more posts.

Love your list, stuffp. So many of those "Oh yeah, I love that one!" songs for me, or artists that make me go "I should add THAT song of theirs to my list." Which the list doesn't need because so far all I've been doing is adding stuff without making any sort of selection. >.>

Yeah, fair enough, I'll just edit that post later.

Imbruglia's still making music, but she had a long break too, I didn't listen to her last (cover) album from 2015 yet.

Cover album? Yeah, that's not "still making music". That's "doing karaoke". :P

I forgot about Torn, I definitely would've put it in my HMs since I loved it when I was a kid, or just was in love with Imbruglia

Summer of 69 also just missed by HMs, great song to hear on the radio

Two songs I really liked when I was younger were Shola Ama's "You Might Need Somebody" and "Like a Prayer" by Mad'House. I fancied the fuck out of both Shola Ama and Mukendi M'Bambi Adolphe, which helped.

Maybe I'm too used to dealing with Americans, but you keep surprising me by knowing/liking songs I'm pretty sure were mostly just European successes. You'll definitely be able to make informed comments when ripping into my choices. :funny:
