Brilliant count for Amityville, more than expected. I can't wait to see how many theatres Kung Fu Hustle can manage next weekend, would be great to see it top the weekend, or at least challenge.

All still in New York and L.A? Or are they trying out a different city?

No, I think they're staying with the same theaters in NY/LA before the all-out expansion next weekend.

Awesome for Amityville, I cant wait to see what kind of box office $$$$ is can get this wknd
Im very glad that Sin City is still in over 300o theaters that could realy help the wknd hold greatly
Add all other films but The Ring 2 had awesome theater holds. I expect some exelent drops from all films in the top 20 this wknd

Amityville Horror is gonna make more than the RING II this weekend, that much I am certain of, especially after that screening I saw and the audience reaction..

That audience is going to go back and see it fifty times? 'Cuz Boogeyman got a halfway decent reaction when I saw that, too.

This movie really is that good, at least I think and if you go in with the mind set of not wanting to compare it so closely to the novel(that's if you haven't read it) then you'll love this or at least have a blast.. I would love to of attended Harry Knowles Premiere of this in Austin TX with the House of Flies he had built for this that apparently went over really well and they loved it.. In the end, I do realize that you just can't please everyone in regards to the negativwe reviews, but if you really sit down and read the negative reviews, all of them basically say the same thing: That the movie could've been closer to the novel and that seeing animals get whacked really struck a chord with them as evident with this movie causing them to pan it and also, reading too much into the storyline, asking questions later like: "Why didn't the family just up and leave after all this stuff started to occur??" Because you wouldn't have a movie if you did that.. Stuff like that that I read which got on my nerves..

As an avid horror fan, I am happy to see The Amityville Horror getting a high theatre count. I expect a somewhat lower opening than one'd expect, though because of the horror overload. I go with around $27 million.
Good to see Downfall not losing theatres. Hope for a drop of less than 30% this weekend.
Also, Guess Who barely lost theatres. The weekend hold will be decent.
