All the ridiculous arguments people made against LeBron in 2010 actually apply here. KD not only cannot win by himself (or with Westbrook), he doesn't even want to.

The only thing that doesn't make this decision worse than Lebron's is that he didn't hold a televised event to announce it.

He was a win away from going to the Finals with OKC. They blew it and now he joins them.

It'll be interesting to see where Westbrook ends up now.

OKC's failure is lack of sacrifice. The owners didn't sacrifice tax dollars to keep Harden. Westbrook couldn't sacrifice his shot attempts or ego enough to fit with Durant more. In the end Durant left to GSW because they had a better team. But OKC once were a Finals team with Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka and Reggie Jackson all in their early 20s. GSW had a more exciting team than them in 2016 because OKC let their chance at being transcendent slip away years ago

Westbrook will be traded and hopefully we get something decent out of it. I didn't mind Durant leaving. His choice but it was still dirty. Going to the team you had beat yet couldn't close out. Leaving a potential championship team to go to the Warriors. The team you could not beat when it mattered most. It just left a really bad taste. Go to the East for heaven sakes but whatever. It will be at least fun to see how they play together though I hope they lose as many games as possible and I sure hope he never wins a title there.

Tim Duncan has retired, just like how Kobe's overblown goodbye tour and 50 shots in his last game represented his career, so does Duncan not going through any of that charade and simply choosing a quiet offseason day and announcing that's it
