 Re: Who Will Be President?
This is so depressing that the race is basically neck and neck right now. How is it possible for Trump to have this much support? I should be totally floored, but this is the same country that elected George W. Bush twice, so not so surprised, just disappointed.
I'm disappointed in Bernie too. He should have given in much sooner. I think pushing Clinton left was a mistake and is helping Trump.

Because these are the two choices the media shove down our throats. Trump gets most of the anti-Hillary support and there is a lot of that. The FBI findings seemed to have hurt her numbers. And those were self-inflicted wounds; she had no one to blame. Sanders' endorsement diverted some of the attention from the email scandal. AG Lynch was on the "repeat" mode with her refusal to answer questions about the DoJ decision at the hearing. That should have made the headline but was overshadowed by Sanders.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Great essay psycho-analyzing Trump http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc ... mp/480771/Putting aside the racism which is hard to get past, Trump is a narcissist jerk but I guess there's a world where a narcissist could do a good job as president. For example he could see it his mission to "win" at being a president (going down as a good one) and work hard and competently towards that goal. At the same time, there's a world where Hillary's character flaws could make her a worse psychological fit to be president than Trump's worse qualities as a lying/corrupt felon, cold, the risk she's stubborn and doesn't yield to experts who question her decisions. People are scared of Trump having his finger on the US military... the downside of Clinton's flaws especially with her history of war mongering could be horrid from a foreign policy perspective as well. Trump is not a trustworthy choice to be president, but Hillary isn't either - it's terrible vs terrible

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Clinton has been running for president since 2000, her lobbying in politics got her where she is now, put there by the support of her party. And republicans have been known, well especially since Bush, to vote for unfit candidates (although not in their mind I guess). It is what it is.

Newt Gingrich said he wanted to test all Muslims in the US, and if they believe in Sharia, they get deported.
Well, that sure is an idea!

Trump says yesterday he will delay his VP announcement due to the Nice attack. So he announced it this morning, exactly when he said he would originally.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
AHAHAHA Trump wanted to delay yesterday because he wasn't sure about Pence. He had to be convinced otherwise.

He couldn't wait until the conference?

He couldn't wait until the conference? No, it is day-to-day political maneuvering. The government does it all the time, controlling the "news" flow. The Trump campaign wanted to keep this in the news for as long as possible. The VP pick was already "leaked" Thursday. Trump might as well have "confirmed" it Friday when France was not as "big" a story in the newsroom as expected. Saturday is normally not a good day for "leaks" or announcement.

Only the first day of the GOP convention, and we already have a plagiarism scandal. Oh well, the reality show continues, and it's not even funny any more.

I just don't understand how/why people could vote for this person. Everything about him is a RED FLAG. I would deny him a loan if he ever applied.

Also, whoever "wrote" Melania's speech basically rickrolled her. Quote: He will never, ever give up. And, most importantly, he will never, ever let you down. As long as he doesn't run around run around and desert us!

Melania said she wrote(plagiarized) the speech herself.
If you are going to plagiarize someone's work, at least make sure you are the same party and not the opposition.

A staffer has finally fallen on the plagiarism sword. And they used Trump Corp letterhead to write the apology!
Except... (that's illegal).

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Having Melania Trump give a speech during the RNC could have been a strong moment of the Trump Campaign, yet it somehow turned into another misstep.

Trump is not a trustworthy choice to be president, but Hillary isn't either - it's terrible vs terrible WTF? Having you been paying any attention? Hard work and competency are incompatible with Trump. He has one skill the long con and that is it. He over pays for properties, under pays for labor, and moves on to his next group of marks investors once he has been paid on his latest fiasco. If you think this is stage 4 Bargaining, you are clearly mistaken. You are still in the Denial stage. This world you describe has no basis in anything I understand as reality. Clinton is ridiculously competent. Comey did his best to muddy the waters 2 weeks ago, but he didn't really find anything so he made shit up. His presentation was disingenuous at best, and he would have been fired in a less toxic non-election year atmospher for this lapse in judgement and others. She has a long record and has made quite a few mistakes, which is perfectly understandable given her longevity. That was the scam Obama ran 8 years ago, he could be anything the naive voter wanted him to be, because he had a limited record. Warmonger? Explain your work.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
This election is not a test. I have read history and there are too many similarities with 1850s America and 1930s Germany to think this is just another election. If the majority of Americans think the government corrupt, media broken, and the economy rigged putting a strong man authoritarian demagogue sociopath in power never ends well.
We can't drag it out like the Brexit vote or get a do over in December. If you don't do everything in your power to elect Hillary Clinton, if Trump gets elected you only will have yourself to blame. Although to be honest, I will not feel too bad for the media when they are purged, because they have been so complicit in his rise.

If Trump's convention is this much of a mess imagine what he would do with far more responsibilities
