Series question: does anyone still know who LL Cool J is nowadays?

Must be a cultural thing. He's very much in the public eye still. In addition to the two shows he's on, he still performs and headlines, constantly featured on men's health magazines, and is hosting the Grammys again.

Michael Rappaport and Thomas Jane unfortunately are no longer around enough anymore.

The Force Awakens is #15 on the adjusted box office list. Just wow. Might finish in the top ten.

And almost every film in the top ten has had major re releases, extended runs. This could very well be the biggest box office run ever if it passes 940 million.

As great as it is: how the hell does The Godfather adjust to $680 million?!

Adults used to go to movies in the 70's to watch adult themed movies.

Wikipedia states that the Godfather was re-released in 1973 following the academy awards, and that its 1972 WW gross was $127.6–142M, compared to the $245M that BOM shows.

I find something like The Sting adjusting to $775m much more baffling.

I blame that damnably catchy theme song.

The sequel is also the last R rated film to hold the OW record. Perhaps even of all time. I'm not sure what any of the OW records were before Jaws.

That makes it the only R-rated movie to hold this record.

SW7 stopped only a few million shy from All Time Top 10. It will be good headline with a re-release.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do America adjusts to $120 million. Didn't realize the show was THAT huge during the Nineties.

I still wonder how The Simpsons Movie would have done had it been made during the show's peak in the 1990s. Released around 1995-1997 it probably would have made $200+ million then, adjusting to over $400 million today.

The show was big (and arguably past its prime when released in 1996). It actually broke the December OW record too! Only to be smashed a year later by Scream 2 (and also beaten by Titanic and Tomorrow Never Dies in the same month).

That doesn't strike me as that impressive, to be honest. That's The Good Dinosaur territory, and not as popular as The Peanuts Movie.

It cost 12m.

Which, adjusted, is $24m. Sure, the ROI is great! It's in Straight Outta Compton territory. But Lecter did not mention it as impressive for that reason. Just on simple gross vs. marketplace, it's not that impressive. Beavis and Butthead was a popular animated show in the 90s. It did not even make the top 20 for the year, and adjusted it would not even make the top 25 (of the last full year).
