Post Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix)
Okay, so I have seen the first seven episodes of Season 2.

They were good, no doubt, but it is sorely missing Vincent D'Onofrio. Also, while I did like all episodes so far and Bernthal is a real badass as Frabk Castle, I have really no idea where this season is going. There is no villain and only by the end of episode 7 something like a real plot thread begins to form.

It ramps up the violence even more than season 1, though.

Also, got to interview Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung yesterday, In partiocualr the interview with Charlie was a blast and very very funny. It is quite clear that he is actually not a big fan of the MCU movies and likes the fact that the show feels very separate from them. Season 2 even moreso than Season 1. So far I haven't noticed a single reference to the movies and just one to Jessica Jones.

Cant wait.

I agree that Wilson Fisk was a great character and probably the best thing Vincent D'Onofrio has done.

Charlie Cox seems like a good guy. I liked him in Boardwalk Empire as well.

He said to me in the interview that Stardust's flop really really hurt his career nine years ago, but without that flop he might not have goten the "Boardwalk" role because he would have seemed too much of a nice guy.

Interesting. I absolutely loved Stardust but when I saw him in Boardwalk had no idea it was the same actor as the guy in Stardust. Completely forgot. This has worked out well for him.

Looking forward to Bernthal as Punisher as he usuallt creeps me out.

And Elodie Yung is a smokeshow!

I LOVED Season 1 and can't wait for Season 2. John Bernthal as The Punisher is perfect and Elodie Yung looks great as Elecktra aswell. Vincent D'Onofrio's William Fisk will be missed because he was such an awesome villain, but I'll eventually get use to it.

I am sure Fisk will be back.

I asked Charlie about him and he just laughed and said "I cannot possibly answer that". Which is Hollywood talk for "Yes, but Marvel will kill me if I spill".

Elodie Yung is so tiny in person.

I just finished watching first seven episodes of 2nd Season and have to agree with Lecter. This season is still good with lots of action but there is really no villain till now.

Loved the scene where Matt saves Frank through a gruesome mob fight (another epic stairway/hallway action sequence).

After finishing the season I understand why Charlie could not have answered Lecter's question.

Whoever loved season 1 will be hooked this season as well. It gets WAY better after 7 episodes. The longer the episode the better it gets.

I'm on episode 8 of the season right now. Jon Bernthal is KILLING IT as the Punisher. Excellent performance.

Yep Episode 10 is pretty great. It ends at the best cliffhanger of this season and ofcourse the jail scene is AWESOME.

OMG HOGARTH IN THE FINALE. DEAD.

This season has been more consistent than the first in my opinion. I LOVE Elektra and Frank.

Just finished Season 2 and all I got to say is WOAH!.That was fantastic, but now I'm sad that we have to wait another whole year for Season 3. John Bernthal completely crushed it as the Punisher and I hope he somehow gets his own show. Elodie Young was great too and I'm very curious to see what they do with Elektra next because that ending was crazy.

This season is wonderful, stronger than the first. The storytelling is more involving, and the pace is tighter. It is hard to imagine a superior live-action interpretation of the Punisher.

While I loved this season I believe the first 7 episodes were quite weak. I can recall few weak episodes in Season 1 as well but not a string of them.

Episodes 8-13 are AMAZING, but I still think there is some great stuff in those first 7. Episodes 2 and 3 especially with the stairway fight and the whole rooftop sequence between DD/FC was really well done. I also enjoyed the courtroom scenes mostly because Bernthal's acting is so damn good.

I know I'm in the minority, but I sort of dislike Vincent D'Onofrio so his absence in season 2 worked out well for me (well, mostly...). He's just so... awkward and LOUD.

Really dug the second season, though being familiar with the comics meant that some of the stuff that happened was kind of expected. Still, having an idea of what's coming doesn't take away from it as long as it's done well, and it definitely was. The fight scenes were just as good as season 1 (if not better), and the violence and torture even more effective at making me cover my face going "NO!!!"

On episode 7. The season started off rough, badly missing Fisk. Though the staircase fight at the end of 3 was incredible and the Karen/Matt romance is adorable.

Elektra has taken it back up to its previous levels in the last few episodes. She isn't as great as D-Noff, but the chaos she brings to all dynamics of the show make it much more compelling.

Through 10 now, the last few episodes have been terrific.

Matt has become even dumber than Karen now though. Good god man, take a second to think before you do something for once.

Jon Bernthal as the Punisher is the best casting Marvel has done since RDJ as Tony Stark

Halfway episode 6... ofc I had some free time and decided to binge watch this.

Punisher is slaying his role so far.
