You have the GOP leaders openly attacking their own frontrunner (Romney doing so tomorrow, too), and some congressmen coming out in support of their frontrunner, at last (?), too. Of course, many in support are probably hoping to ride the coattails of record voter turnout Trump is largely responsible for.
The party is beginning to effectively split. If this race goes as far as the convention, surely the GOP doesn't think overruling the people's decision (Trump) in favor of a chosen candidate is the correct choice. Whoever that "chosen" candidate is would lose by default of party/establishment interference with democracy.
Also, Christie looked like a hostage during Trump's press conference last night. He's basically bet his entire political career on Trump becoming president. I think they might have to save their party. Trump is a damn fascist and we can't allow him to be elected president by any means necessary.

Trump is dangerous, he will destroy this country. If people could have stopped Hitler or Mussolini, I am sure they wished they could have.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
The only hope now is for two of Cruz/Rubio/Kasich to drop out and rally behind their man - probably Cruz as he has more delegates but Rubio should pick up more soon. That's the only way they can overcome Trump. And to be honest - its already too late.
Hiliray should breeze her way to the Presidency now.

So Trump just referenced his penis size in the debate today. It almost feels that he just wants to prove a point that nothing he says will affect his supporters' opinion.

The party leaders and the media made this look chaotic. A competitive race should be the norm in a democracy. The electoral process should be updated to closely reflect the will of the people. It should not be used by party leaders to overrule the people's choice. If a party is split or a new party emerges to better represent the constituency, let it be. Let the market work itself out. Calling it a chaos is the most biased view the media can insert.

Guessing no way they go against democracy at convention. Trump being nominee isn't that bad for establishment. He gets destroyed then they get to say see, this is why you have to pick us next time

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Think GOP is more concerned about Trump's effect on state and local legislative elections. Even though Cruz also has little chance of winning general election if nominated, at least his ideology aligns more with the traditional christian conservative voters, and the thinking could be his presence at the top of the ticket won't have as much of a negative effect downstream. If not for the Supreme Court situation, I really don't see a reason why GOP doesn't just give up the presidential race this time and concentrate the efforts elsewhere. In 4 years, Hillary will be 72, the economy is very likely to be worse, and Democrats would have controlled WH for 12 years; it'll be a perfect scenario then for them to come up with a candidate to win, just like Dem did with Clinton in 1992.

Trump is to blame, look at his rallies. You had one in Kentucky where White supremacists roughed up a black woman and called her vile names. Truimp is a horrible person and will destroy our country.

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Kansas and Nebraska are likely to go for Bernie, while Louisiana is an easy win for Clinton. And her likely 40-50 point win there, in the largest of today's states, will probably have her win the day in terms of delegates. I'm thinking ~60 for Clinton, ~50 for Sanders of the pledged 109 up for grabs tonight.
Also, Cruz is doing very, very well tonight so far. I have a feeling he's going to defeat Trump tonight in all four Republican contests.

Rubio is now a dead man walking, it's not even like he has a toss-up chance to get Florida to hang his hopes on, Trump is up big in the polls I think

 Re: Who Will Be President?
Yeah, horrible night for Rubio. Clearly going super aggressive against Trump, and stooping to his level with the trifling insults, didn't have a positive impact whatsoever. He's only in this now, 100%, to attempt to halt Trump's cumulative delegate count in Florida (unlikely).
He only won 6 delegates in Kansas, and he'll end up winning some delegates, 6-8, in Kentucky (thanks to the state's low 5% threshold). But that's it. He's going to get 0 delegates from Louisiana AND Maine, failing to receive those state's 20% and 10% thresholds, receptively. Kasich almost beat him tonight in the delegate count.
