Creed's is in. It received a A. Higher than Rocky Balboa's (oddly low) B+. On par with Southpaw's A. Below Cinderella Man's A+. Higher than Play It to the Bone's D. ;)

A is good enough.

A is great, but I was really counting on this being an A+, thinking to know Cinemascore.

Cinemascore's grades like Fandango's are always inflated, althought Rocky Balboa's B+ is oddly low indeed.

Southpaw and Cinderella Man's score are just...whut?

And Play it to the Bone was entertaining.

They measure this based on the audience response or something right? On the one hand it should be useful, but I still prefer IMDB or Rotten.

It is based on a questionnaire handed out at a few U.S. theatres.

The Good Dinosaur received an A, same as Brave, Inside Out, Monsters University, Toy Story 3...

Victor Frankenstein received a C. Lower than the B- received by, among others, Crimson Peak, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, and Sleepy Hollow.

IMDB and RT is not comparable with CinemaScore.

ROCKY V managed an A CinemaScore. Clearly CREED is terrible.

An A is great and fully expected for Creed. An A is also expected for The Good Dinosaur. I was thinking B- for Victor Frankenstein. A C is pretty damn bad.

Sleepy Hollow received a B-?! Jesus, CinemaScore really is useless.

And The Ring received a B but had staying power like a film that received an A+.

So Krampus got a B-...that's pretty bad...can't believe it's leaning to be considered fresh on RT.

Umm, no. Anything above a B- for a horror film is good. Even The Ring only got a B.

I think Insidious was just a B as well and that was crazy leggy.

OK, interesting.

I imagine, the reviews at CinemaScore are mostly based on, whether it lived up to expectations or disappoint.

If a films gets reviewed as a B on CS I consider that as, yeah, it was OK. A B+ as good as they expected, and a B- as slightly disappointed.

But really, what do I know.
Saw was a pretty good film, and should have been a B+/A- on the CS scale.

CinemaScore's website.

I'm surprised they were doing CinemaScore's in 1990.
