 FOX is "quitting" same-day ratings http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/1 ... rs-is-not/The revolution has begun. Though I am sure FOX mosly does that because their same-day numbers are terrible for almost every show that is not called "Empire".

Scream Queens doesn't suddenly become hit with Live +3 or Live +7 ratings. Yes. It adds 2 million viewers let's say. But so do the other shows. No ratings system can propel a certain show from a ratings bomb to ratings hit.

What's their use now? Either, you can say, people just do not care aout TV shows anymore or they watch them differently. I want to gauge a popularity of a TV show and the same-day ratings do no longer provide that information, IMO. Re: FOX is "quitting" same-day ratings If it's on the fence it's more likely the decision on its renewal will be based on some other factor (overseas sales, syndication, if the production costs can be cut down...).
They're probably already using C+3 and C+7 ratings anyway. The L+3 and L+7 are just numbers that make a show look better. They can't sell ads based on those. FOX is just using PR machine here. And they need it.

Re: FOX is "quitting" same-day ratings This sounds like pure PR. The ratings will still be released by other sources and Fox doesn't get to decide which numbers decide the ad sales. Fox just wants people to pay attention to the DVR numbers cause they sound better
