Post Worst Idea Ever?
So... anyone watch Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris?

I couldn't believe it when NBC announced that I could see the same lifeless, unfunny NPH from The Oscars 2015 hosting a show each week, but man, they sure delivered it!

I don't know of his acclaimed hosting duties from multiple Tony Awards, but if this is the same guy that hosted those shows and won praise, then I just don't get the NPH love and that's fine.

The show itself is bizarre. It belongs in daytime, but I assume doing daytime would be beneath Neil. And I have to assume he's disappointed the best "co-host" he could muster is Nicole Scherzinger. She briefly and badly lip-syncs her one hit. Then Carrot Top came out holding a "holy mackerel". No really. Gloria Gaynor came out and sang her big hit, which would have been a huge deal in 1980. NBC personality and full-time Ryan Seacrest impersonator Carson Daly shows up too.

The show's only asset is guest announcer Reese Witherspoon, who I imagine is close friends with NPH. I feel pretty bad for her, since I assume she was promised this would be a huge deal with big stars and she's sharing a stage with a prop comic and a singer that was barely relevant for 15 minutes ten years ago. But Reese showed off her comedy skills and proved she was game. Too bad she couldn't host the show.

Admittedly, I've only made it through half the show so far, but it's not good. The whole thing hinges on whether or not you think NPH is the most awesome person ever, and I just don't. Curious to know if anyone else watched.

Best part of the show was the brief "cameo" of British TV personalities (and originators of this Best Time Ever concept) Ant and Dec. Who I imagine no one knew.

Ehh I had fun with it. It has time to grow and I think it'll get even better.

Well I think my problem lies with Neil. I think he's a terrific actor but I don't care for his entertainment style. There's no denying his talent.

Different strokes, different folks.
