ABC Renews 4 Dramas... *Update - Reality Renewal*
I'll give you a clue for all you "desperate" people out there who feel a little "lost", like you're stuck in "Boston" on a mission for the CIA, with a fancy new "alias" to catch the bad guys.
... sorry, I suck. Anyway, ABC has renewed "Lost", "Desperate Housewives", "Boston Legal", and "Alias" for the 05-06 season. Great news for Boston Legal and Alias fans, obvious news for Lost and Housewives fans.

Update: As expected, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" has also been renewed for next season. With ratings like it gets, Home Edition is easily the quietest reality success on television.

Hmm...I could have sworn Lost and Desperate Housewives were already renewed.
It was probably a full first season order that I remember.

Possibly, but it wasn't really news to anyone that they were renewed, considering ABC would have to be run by monkeys to not renew Lost or Desperate Housewives.

Yay, ABC is no longer that fat kid that eats paste! It ruled this past season, and I hope it manages to take the top spot next year.
Aren't NBC and CBS doing their own Desperate Housewives rip-offs this next TV season? I seem to remember hearing about one a few months ago.

I am glad all these showings are returning. They are all good shows. I also believe Grey's Anatomy is returning next season.

There is a new show that is a comedy that resembles Desperate Housewives/Sex and the City, but I can't remember much about it. I'm surprised we're not hearing much about any show where a bunch of people are stranded somewhere after a trainwreck or boatcrash.
This season on FOX... a group of interesting, beautiful people are shipwrecked on a deserted island. Where are they? Who are they? And how will they survive being... "Not Found". Coming up this season after an all-new Generic Reality Series Rip-Off.

ABC is definitely going to have to renew Grey's Anatomy, and I sense a possible Tuesday or Wednesday time period next season for "Boston Legal", since Grey's Anatomy is obviously kicking ass right now after the Housewives.

Renewing Boston Legal? I thought the ratings for the show were ok but not good or great. Must of caved into David E Kelly

ABC is probably on a major drama kick now, with most of its dramas all doing successfully, so they're building from that. I wouldn't be surprised to hear most of its reality shows and comedies being renewed, with the few weak links getting cut. Where they're great (Lost, Housewives), they'll stay great. Where they're stable (Alias, Boston Legal, probably 8 Simple Rules and Hope and Faith), they'll stay stable. Where they're weak (Thursdays, Mondays), they'll make improvements.
I'm starting to wonder what they'll do with comedies. I can't see them dropping According to Jim or Hope and Faith and probably not 8 Simple Rules. That leaves 5 other slots, which may or may not be filled with Less Than Perfect, Rodney, My Wife and Kids, and George Lopez, leaving one slot available. I doubt ABC will leave just one new comedy, so something is getting the axe, perhaps two shows, but no more than two. I say it's coming from the latter four.

The only reason why Boston Legal is considered only a small hit is because it doesn't hang on to most of Housewives' ratings.
then again, the only reason it is decent in the ratings (and decent for abc is GREAT) is because of Housewives.
But Housewives or not, when it comes down to numbers, Boston Legal is a solid drama ratings-wise.
Good to hear ALIAS is renewed. But I'm gonna stop watching it so I can watch the second half of the season non-stop on DVD.
I would expect to hear Grey's Anatomy renewed pretty soon as well.

I'm surprised we're not hearing about something that would be DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES meets LOST. Like LOST HOUSEWIVES .
