Looks like Emma won't go fully dark for a while. The scene with her ripping out the heart isn't a real scene just something they made for Comic Con. Though in the past I believe teasers like that have ended up pretty close to a real scene like an Ariel and Grumpy teaser
I love this picture. Emma is trippin. I think that Rumplestiltskin will be in her head like the Dark One spirit trying to corrupt her. Like John and the Harvey Scorpius in Farscape if you've seen it
From some interviews I get the feeling Merida is a big part of this season

I'm going to watch this show, but hopefully this is the last season. The premiere probably won't get more than 7 million viewers.

Re: Once Upon A Time S5- The one with Camelot
Loved the first episode! Merida was great and as always a heart getting ripped out of a chest is money, lots of good Hook and Regina lines (also LOL at the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest inclusion), Zelena cutting her hand off and wanting to go home, and really loved the last scene 6 weeks later. Emma felt like half herself which made it scarier. Merlin in his one scene was good too
Fantastic episode, between action, dialog driven scenes and major plot points being set up. Although Charming is the weakest of the main main characters, they've done a pretty good job in his centrics and have shown him to be someone with some troubled thoughts and layers. Overall great start to this season so far

I'm completely ambivalent toward King Arthur. I wish they would keep the focus on the main characters, especially considering Arthur will probably disappear midway through the season never to be heard from again, like Anna and Elsa from last year.

Wow what Emma did at the end made that whole episode fantastic. Everything fit together - Emma getting the idea from Regina's dreamcatcher, the horse getting let out, etc.
Emma could justify it by saying the ends supports the means... saying it's more important that I don't become the Dark One, than Henry avoiding a heartbreak that's going to happen one day. But it's emotional manipulation and taking away his ability to make his own future.

Re: Once Upon A Time S5- The one with Camelot
For me an instant classic episode last night, loved both the Merlin/Nimue backstory even if I guessed where it was going, and scenes with Emma/Merlin/Nimue/Arthur in present day were so on point too. Wonderful season - glad to see Once killing it again after 4b which I have mixed feelings about
God damn this season has been spectacular for me, even the Merida bonus episode(???) was pretty good. The Hook and Emma scenes have been great. And the 5b plot including
Going to hell, the Devil and Hercules and Magera - in the 100th episode 5b premiere lots of dead characters like Peter Pan and Cora will appear, and later Cruella
I mean, I've enjoyed this season... but the last few episodes have seemed like they've just been going in circles and making no progress.

Re: Once Upon A Time S5- The one with Camelot
Blessed for another great Once half-season, some characters got a smaller role like Snow White, but will always appreciate the complexity of Emma as the Dark Swan, and overall many exciting moments as they unravel the Camelot arc (though hoping for a resolution scene for Arthur, Guin and Merida) and Hook's fate became clear
Rumplestiltskin still the dirtiest player in the game. Not necessarily a heel turn, he just gave up on himself like Hook when killing his father, and Emma's plan to destroy the magic instead of transferring it was only a toss-up plan to work as he'd told her
Underworld Storybrooke and 100th episode with Peter Pan and Cora back looks great, though I wish Zelena was with them instead of sent to Oz
FYI Once's creators have a horror anthology show out this for this summer on Freeform (which is the new name for ABC Family)... basically ABC Family AHS I think

So this show now has Elizabeth Mitchell and Elizabeth Lail (who played Anna)
In other news, for 5b I notice that the actress who plays Cruella is listed for 5 of 8 filmed episodes so far on IMDB. She must have a real role in this arc though they haven't been too public talking about her return

Re: Once Upon A Time S5
Finally caught up on the last few episodes and have enjoyed them immensely. I was a little lost (perhaps not paying enough attention and losing interest - not a big fan of Emma as the Dark One) earlier in the season but the last few episodes have been very engaging. The rest of the season should be good.

Re: Once Upon A Time S5
The only way I'm gonna be happy with what seems to be coming (going to the Underworld to save a dead man) is if they bring Neil back. Hook's death feels useless if they're just gonna go grab him from the afterlife, and if he can come back, Neil should come back, too. Of course, over the last season and a half or so, I've suddenly become an Emma/Regina shipper (did NOT expect myself to), so keeping both men gone would be fine with me, too. ;-)

Re: Once Upon A Time S5
Well even though the one with Emma stabbing him was figuratively a death scene by the writers, in the context of the storyline he really died when he got cut on the neck in Camelot, after that he was undead version although it was still a figurative death choice by the writers. So if including the first scene his death had more impact by causing the Dark Swan storyline
Would this show have been better as an animated show? I've never watched it and I don't think I want to binge this but I was thinking it would probably work better as an animated show where you have more leeway in what the characters can do visually while still exploring the same storylines but in a different way.
