 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
How much did they actually direct of the season? I know Tom Tykwer has directed some too.

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
Not sure.
Still, it is my understanding they are the primary creative force, so I am sure their show-running influence is still deeply felt in episodes directed by others.

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
You can see their influence in the trailers already. For better or worse, the action scenes look Matrix-y again. From all I heard and read, it will also be heavily influenced by the co-creator J. Michael Straczynski.

And to answer my own question: they directed seven of the twelve episodes.

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
I've watched five episodes of this so far and it's a little bizarre and hard to follow but is also oddly addicting. It definitely moves at a slow pace but it's more about building the world and understanding these characters than anything else. Lito, Nomi and Will are my favorites so far.
Also it's visually stunning.

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
I think this is the most ambitious show that Netflix has done. The pure scope of the whole thing is so fantastic and this is the first project they have that really feels like a 12-hour movie instead of a weekly TV series.
I'm on episode 8 right now. Once the pieces all start coming together it's really managed to hit a stride. I'm very invested.

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
Just finished. This show is fucking awesome. It's the most visually stunning thing I've ever seen on television and the finale was super intense and exciting. I really came to love almost all the characters and the ending was beautiful. This better get a second season. I need to see how things turn out.
For the record, this was easily the fastest I've binged a Netflix show aside from Kimmy Schmidt.

I'm so glad someone else here watched this. I will seriously die if there isn't a season 2. I feel like Netflix is giving it no promotion.

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
I have four or five episodes left. I highly enjoy the series. It has so many beautiful and exciting moments. It can be downright hypnotic as it cuts around the globe. And I enjoy the diversity of the characters and stories and how the series is allowing each to evolve at its own pace and find its own groove rather than racing to bring every element together for a typical post-Lost science-fiction-conspiracy storyline, even though this dynamic is obviously in play, too.
At times, the dialogue lands with a thud when the writers try to slip a Grand Point/Thought into a conversation, but this is a relatively minor issue and, to be honest, par for the course with the Wachowski siblings.
I agree Netflix does not seem to be overexerting itself advertising this, which is strange considering how action-oriented and ambitious (and, I presume, expensive) it is.

Oh, and my favorite character/storyline is Sun (Doona Bae).

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
Sun is the badass of the show.
And yeah, I feel Netflix is neglecting the show, which is weird cuz it looks like the most expensive show they've done.

Oh and Magnus, it takes time to get everything together, but when it does it's just epic and the final three episodes are along the best of 2015 so far

 Re: Sense8 (Netflix)
Great news. This series is ambitious, beautiful, crazy, epic, etc. and has enormous potential going forward, particularly with the characters well established now. A cancellation would have devastated me.
