People have to start turning on each other. I wish something happened so both Jen and Joe stayed.

Can we take a moment to talk about this show's incredible staying power? For a show to be winning the night in demo numbers in its 30th season and 15th year on air is insane. It's somehow managed consistently strong viewership all these years despite similar shows like The Amazing Race and Big Brother showing significant declines. Even American Idol has fallen behind it at this point - who saw that happening? There are no signs of slowing down either as seasons 31 and 32 are already on the way.

Does Survivor have one of the most loyal followings in TV history?

I started watching Survivor with Australia and have seen every season since then. I dropped cable in Dec but Survivor is the one show I can't live without. So I purchase a season pass for the show from Amazon.

Shirin was awesome tonight. I loved when she rose her hand against Will.

That episode had so much amazing buildup and then...bam. Another horrible, anticlimactic ending as the Pagonging continues. At least Jenn gets to go be with her BFFs on the jury.

I'm firmly Team Mike and Shirin. Everyone else can seriously GTFO and take a seat. Especially Will. The way he attacked Shirin was so gross! And then the way she stomped on his opportunity to get his family video was richly deserved.

Wait, why did Shirin and Mike vote for Jenn? What did I miss? I thought they were gunning for "Mama C."

They must've realized it was fruitless, or Jenn asked them to do it.

Bit of an editorial oversight.

Dan probably told Mike that he wasn't going to vote for Carolyn. Shirin likely feared she'd go home in a revote so voted for Jenn to ensure her safety. Those would be my guesses.

Shirin denying that piece of shit Will his letter from home was amazing! The way she just slowly raised her hand had me dying.

Everyone left sans Mike and Shirin need to get off my screen. Truly a vile bunch.

What a star.

But seriously, this is easily one of the most unlikable crops of people at the end ever, Mike and Shirin excepted. Tyler seems fine but he's so boring that who can even say/care.

I can totally see a scenario where Underdog Shirin wins the game, by the way. All three people currently on the jury (Hali, Joe, Jenn) would vote for her to win. If Mike isn't able to come back from his deficit and ends up on the jury, he would too. All it would take her was one extra vote from someone, which could easily come from Sierra or Tyler.

That would be epic! At the very least I think she's secured herself a returning spot for a future season.

That was devastating. I hate the editors for tantalizing us with the prospect of something interesting, and then Queen Shirin gets voted out anyway.

All in on Mike. Everyone else can go fall off a cliff for all I care. And, in the case of Dan and Will, hit jagged rocks all the way down.

The season is in a fascinating, precarious place. If Mike goes, it will be an absolute dead zone. An arid wasteland of people who are either interchangeable or deeply grotesque.

Oh, I dug Jeff needling Dan in last night's episode.

DAN: I feel so bad for my man Rodney. He is suffering. He is playing so hard. No reward yet for him, but he always fights. Love you, baby! Wish you were standing here!
JEFF: Want to give him your spot, solidarity, friendship, etc.?
DAN: ...

I fear for this so, so much. Rodney has a strong chance of winning if he can eliminate Mike and Tyler.

This season's still been enjoyable, but as you said - it's basically hinging on Mike staying alive at this point.

This is without a doubt the most unlikable group of people ever assembled at the end in the history of Survivor. Worse than Thailand, somehow. Mike is the sole shining beacon of light.

As David said, if Mike doesn't win, this will be a catastrophe.

Can we just get Ponderosa footage with Hali, Joe, Jenn and Shirin instead of these awful people?

And yes, further agreeing with David, the abundant footage of Dan being made to look like the absolute dumbass nightmare he is was wonderful. The most shocking thing is that he's married. Is his wife being held hostage or something?

That's a bit harsh. He is likely a much different person at home.

His continued defense of his behavior on social media points to him being just as gross and delusional outside the game.

They will definitely turn on each other next tribal anyway. Mike has hidden immunity and they know it. Should be a great episode

Apparently the list of eligible S31 contestants will be revealed on tonight's episode (? or something). 20 of them will compete out of the list of 30 based on viewer votes.

For the record, it's a "second chance" season filled with past players who only played once before (and I believe features no winners).

Jesus, FINALLY an interesting result. It's about time. Although, ironically, the victim of the vote was the perpetually uninteresting Tyler.

I guess this was Carolyn's breakout episode? She is the *only* possible winner other than Mike. Voting her closest ally out like that was pretty cold (but shrewd). And she's kind of a challenge beast.

For what it's worth, these are the 32 past players who viewers will be voting on for inclusion in the next season:

That was insanely satisfying! Dan has to to be one of the most unaware, useless castaways we've seen in 30 seasons, and seeing him exit in such an embarrassing fashion was worth putting up with his shit for 13 episodes.

If Mike can't pull through, I would be happy with a Carolyn win at this point. Excellent gameplay from her tonight and I loved her outburst of joy at tribal. I see now why she was included in the second chance vote.

Rodney and Will maintain their vile status.

Sierra's stubborn refusal to make a move, while frustrating for the viewers, could end up working out for her if she makes it to the end with Will and Rodney. We know Will isn't getting a single vote and Rodney is rapidly losing any goodwill he once held. I sincerely hope that isn't the outcome, as it would be a blah finish to an otherwise entertaining season.

Also, Dan's Ponderosa video is gold.

The fact that he considers himself a hero.
The fact that he considers himself self-aware.
Him totally creeping out the female doctor.
Hali refusing to give him a hug.
The fact that he's learned nothing about himself after an experience like Survivor.
The editors clearly having a blast showing his delusion.
