I can't be happier with the result of the Tribal. Good premiere.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
Wow, that tribal council was a mess. It seems like no one on the orange tribe knows what the hell they're doing. Like, actually. NO ONE. Val's aggressive disposition out of nowhere was so odd. Also, it's clear that John Rocker is still a raging asshole ("Wahhhhhh I can't believe I got beat by a girl!"). How does his girlfriend, who seems like a cool lady, put up with him?
It's a marked contrast to the blue tribe, which continues to win everything and has pretty much all likable people.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
They sure gave Julie a lot of shit for a few clementines and a handful of trail mix. This season is watchable (as Survivor almost always is), but none of the players are particularly interesting or sympathetic, in my opinion. Most of them seem vapid and vaguely unpleasant.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
This season isn't actively terrible but it's pretty unmemorable so farl. Julie seems like an OK person (their absolute dragging of her over the trail mix was over the top) but I can't really get behind quitters.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
Decent episode last night. The arc of Jaclyn switching sides due to Alec and Wes' boorish behavior was enjoyable.
I am not very invested in any direction, but, right now, I guess I am rooting for either Jeremy or Baylor to win.

20x better than last week. Looks like others actually start playing the game next week too.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
Unlike last week's total anticlimax, this was a tense result. I really wasn't sure which way Jon and Jaclyn were going to go.
I like Josh, but Jeremy's side played the whole thing much better. And I respected Jaclyn feeling slighted by the douchey frat boy behavior and putting her foot down to not be a doormat about standing for it. You go girl.
Missy and Baylor are increasingly starting to remind me of that Texas mom who killed her cheerleader daughter's rival and her daughter (the one they made an HBO movie about with Holly Hunter). And I think I'm sort of loving it.

Reed's plan was great. Until Keith fucked it up. Too bad. Next week's episode looks interesting as well.

Whew, glad they devoted two hours to such an enthralling, eventful, magical, zesty series of twists and turns.

I'm not sure why Natalie didn't think of just voting out Jaclyn instead. Her "move" to vote out Alec instead of Keith didn't seem very well thought out, which is too bad since she's about the only person left that I'd like to see win.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
It was a good episode I think. No surprises with the final votes but the pre tribals were OK. Yeah. Natalie is my favorite too (so weird to say that as I hated her and her sister in TAR both times), but I don't think she can make it to final 3.

I agree - I'm going to assume she can make it to the top 5 since they'll most likely vote off Keith, then she'll have her hidden immunity idol to make it past the next tribal. At the top 5, she'll be a key swing vote for one of the couples. But then when it gets down to the final four, I think she'll then be viewed as too big of a threat and be voted off by the remaining couple and the individual who was just de-coupled.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
Based on the edit, are we meant to admire Jon and his what-a-cute-native-I-want-a-child, I-share-my-wine-passion-with-my-dying-father, self-sacrificing-machismo act or despise him? Because I find him nearly intolerable.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
Ugh, Queen Natalie needs to win in order to redeem this season.
I have recurring nightmares about a Keith/Missy/Baylor final three. Missy and Baylor suuuuuuuck but they have camp appeal for me. Like, Missy whole voting out Reed and her "my child is not a brat!" Gurl, no.
The Jaclyn/Jon lovers' spat right in the middle of the game was pretty hilarious.
Like MGCasey said, one thing I was confused about is why Natalie didn't try to use Alec, Keith and Baylor to just vote out Jaclyn in order to weaken Jon when the plan blew up? I'm guessing that was considered as an option (we just didn't see it) but was thought to be too risky with Jon still in the mix? I dunno.

Re: Survivor: San Juan del Sur
HELL. FREAKING. YES.
You slayed the entire damn season, Queen Natalie.
I love this win for several reasons: a) she played an awesome game b) the absolutely hilarious symmetry of the fact that her Twinnie was voted out first and she won the whole thing (!) c) I went from finding the Twinnies exasperating and exhausting on TAR to stanning for Natalie like this. Who knew?
And it was nice Jaclyn picked up an extra vote beside Jon's. All ended as it should have.
Now let's see what kind of crappy reunion we have in store.

So happy to see Natalie win a well-deserved victory! I'll have to watch the reunion tonight.
