I really have to "hand" it to you for devouring 3 seasons in a one week period time but don't get "choked" up during season 4 or your "head may explode" during one of the battle sequence

Why is Game of Throne so good then? I may download it too since I getting to the end of the crappy Sarah Connor Chronicles, and I still need something to waste away my evenings..

Once you start sifting through the numerous characters (I'd even recommend watching the show first, then reading the books, as it's harder to keep track of these characters when you only read about them), it's just an excellent show. Well-acted, well-written, exciting, violent, sexy. And the budgets may be drastically smaller than film but they've done an excellent job with the sets, the visual effects, etc. Especially the battle sequence in Season 2. Nothing looks horribly fake. It's honestly like a series of movies.

Research it a little Algren to see if you'll enjoy the genre. But not too much research to spoil anything. Also, Lena Headey is in it. She's much better here than as Sarah Connor. Coincidentally, Emilia Clarke is on GoT and will play Sarah Connor in Genesis.

Ugh, I really hate Lena Headey. I need to take a break from her. She's an awful actress.

But thanks for the summary. I do plan to watch it eventually.

I finally started watching Freaks and Geeks, pretty big fan so far. More of a drama and a comparable pairing to My So Called Life than I thought. Like the Judd Apatow directed movies the theme of change/age is pretty strong.

And that's a fantastic episode. One of the series best IMO.

Another decent Apatow show is Undeclared. Its quite different to Freaks but enjoyable.

I think I'll start on The Good Wife next. Probably True Detective as well.

Just finished Season 3, so I've had my share of amazing episodes so far, particularly "The Rains of Castamere". Wow.

Indeed. That tops the lot. I don't think any one episode from Season 4 tops that one - but overall the S4 episodes are as good or better than S3. Enjoy!

I have just resumed Homeland. I stopped after Season 3 Episode 4, and I just started again from 5-7. It's still good, and I shouldn't have stopped at 4. It's getting good but in a different way. Anyway, I will finish it within the next day or two and then I'm all ready for Season 4.

I think I'm going to start RE-watching Homeland after GoT. Stopped on Season 2 episode 2. Got discouraged after the poor word-of-mouth.

I caught a few episodes of this most recent season (kind of accidently as it was left on TV) and I really enjoyed what I saw (even out of context I guess). So will certainly start on S1 soon!

Watching Fargo now. Not sure where to go next. I want to start The Wire and Oz, but for some reason, The Good Wife is also calling my name, as well as Orange is the New Black and House of Cards on Netflix.

Guys - sell Orange is the New Black to me. What's so good about it? Why should I watch?

It creates an entire world that you wouldn't have ever necessary been interested in visiting. I was hooked after the first episode - though I think most others got hooked after the 3rd.

It has the benefits of an expansive cast of fascinating characters. It's hilarious, heart-breaking, and hugely shocking episode to episode.

Really? Hmm, that's appealing to me right now. I didn't figure that, based on the premise (I assume it's basically set in a women's prison), that it would be a shocking show.

I've seen about 10 episodes of OITNB, it's good for its fun and energy but I find the experience a little slight - definitely a comedy and not a drama. Most of the prisoners come off as uber-likable light hearted goofballs to me, which has its benefits television wise, but also leaves a darker more dramatic show on the table IMO. Jason Biggs character kind of has more selfish imperfections than most of the prisoners.

Plus, the second season is easly the best season of any show this year. They build on the universe set on the first season and let it EXPLODE with the addition of one of the best villians this year.

It's definitely the funniest non-straight comedy on right now. Doesn't take away from the great character drama though.

Finally got around to starting Deadwood, about 5 episodes in. I like it a lot though it's moments of greatness is separated by a lot that's just pretty good. The 10 years of cable dramas since it aired probably takes some of the shine off.

I've been catching up on How I Met Your Mother and Community. I have never watched HIMYM while I started Community back when it started but never kept up.

Planning on starting Orange soon too.

I'm struggling with Deadwood. I feel like I can see the wheels turning more-so than the world and characters coming to organic life and as a result I'm not really hooked on it. For example characters like the hotel owner and doctor are giving really good performances but they still feel like performances more than people. Also, I miss Wild Bill

I finally finished season 1 of Mad Men... enjoyed it and keen to see where the show goes. Best drama series though? idk, I'd have to look at what else was nominated in its first year.
