Breaking Bad vs. True Detective - it's official.

Ew. Breaking Bad should win, easily.

Matthew McConaughey just lost his Emmy.

I'm sorta pissed True Detective is competing in Drama Series, to be honest. I absolutely think the show is deserving of awards but this just makes it harder for The Good Wife to claw its way back to a series nomination.

It's kind of category fraud, and yes, it pisses me off for that reason too (aside from the fact that "True Detective" is WILDLY overrated).

This awards season should be interesting especially with "Orange Is The New Black" going for Comedy awards and "Shameless" switching to that category as well (even though this season has been anything but comedic, but whatever allows Emmy to maybe get a nomination I'm cool with).

And The Walking Dead.

That show is never getting nominated

It will probably be:

2. True Detective
3. Mad Men
4. Game of Thrones
5. House of Cards
6. Homeland

7. Downton Abbey
8. The Good Wife

Matthew has this one locked to win. Drama series is 50% chance between TD and BB. I'm leaning towards TD winning that one.

The Emmy's being the awful awards they are, will surely pick MM and TD over Cranston and BB. Because #EMMYS!

Bryan Cranston still has this one locked up y'all.

Well considering they gave it to Jeff Daniels and not Cranson last year, they will most likely give it to Matthew who is coming off an oscar win and because of Emmy bias in favor of HBO shows. Plus Cranston already won in that category several times.

And the #emmys

Gurl please, 24 was not going to beat True Detective head to head.

People love 24.

They do, yes. And I'm sure it will be nominated. But True Detective's acclaim and buzz is on another level.

On Breaking Bad level?

Not even close. The Emmys won't award a broadcast show over HBO for drama or miniseries. Besides even without True Detective in the miniseries category, 24 has bigger threats from Sherlock, Fargo and defending champ American Horror Story.

Will 24 be eligible? It doesn't even start until May. I'm sure most of its run is out of contention, unless May 31st is no longer the deadline.

I have a bad feeling about Breaking Bad. There are a few cases to be made for both. I believe it'll end up being Matthew over Cranston and BB over TD. Aaron Paul should have Supporting wrapped up, though I don't see how Woody isn't submitted for Lead with Matthew.

Then again, I really don't understand how rules don't disallow True Detective, a series with the identical model of American Horror Story and with fewer episodes, to submit for Drama Series, a category meant for series that are continuing.

But from a fan of both, I think it's interesting to say the least, and shows HBO has nothing but balls to make such a move when Miniseries would have guaranteed them every award imaginable.

True Detective was great, but it was no final season Breaking Bad great. Cranston should still win it and BB should still take home best drama. Mad Men will (hopefully) sweep next year.

I'm also wondering how time will play a factor. By the time voting commences, almost one year will have passed since BB ended.

I'm pretty sure Downton Abbey gets in over Homeland. The buzz on the latter kinda flatlined this year, while Downton Abbey has remained pretty consistent buzz-wise.

I think Breaking Bad still wins Drama Series. True Detective feels a little like a hotshot freshman that ends up losing, kinda like Desperate Housewives in its first season getting beat by Everybody loves Raymond.

TGW needs to be nominated. Period. BB, TD, MM, GOT are shoe-ins.
