 Re: SNL Season 38
December has a three-week run of solid shows lined up. Paul Rudd hosts on December 3rd, John Goodman for his 13th time on December 10th (with Kings of Leon as music), and Jimmy Fallon on December 17th with Timberlake as music guest.

 Re: SNL Season 38
Last night's John Goodman episode was okay - - stand-out skit was easily the Three Wise Guys with Goodman, De Niro, and Stallone - - it featured some very clever writing and great comic performances.

 Re: SNL Season 38
De Niro still has zero timing for live TV, but Stallone was great, as was the always-excellent Goodman throughout the night. Too bad they finally found a talented cast with untalented writers.

 Re: SNL Season 38
SNL has hired a black woman!
I'm not sure how well this is going to play when (if?) it hits mainstream media. It feels like Lorne Michaels saying "OK, you want a black woman in the cast, here's your black woman!" There was extensive auditioning to hire a black female cast member. It almost feels like an admission of guilt, that they had actively kept black women away from being cast members, but Kerry Washington hosted, pointed out a glaring lack of diversity in the female cast, and now Lorne realizes the jig is up.
I mean, yeah, through the history of SNL, there is a serious lack of diversity in the cast. But it just feels like a begrudging hire.
