On Sunday's episode, Family Guy killed off...



While there were no efforts to revive the character by episode's end, implying it's permanent, I find it hard to believe it won't be eventually reversed, especially given future episode details.

People still watch this show?

The whole thing is so dumb. Family Guy hasn't been good in, like, four or five years but still. This dumb decision to just seals it.

yeah it is all trying to drive up ratings. The Simpsons is doing the same thing. I expect the character will be back by the end of the season.

I stopped last year but only because it's not necessary anymore to watch, unless I want a few cheap laughs. It still provides them, but the attempts to squeeze a dramatic moment out of a show that has never waded into dramatic waters before (unlike The Simpsons and Futurama) failed horribly.

On the plus side, it did provide this:

Peter: Hey, just out of curiosity, what breed are you?
Vinnie: Actually, I'm a pussy hound.
Peter: Really? All right!!
Vinnie: That just means I'm 1/16th cat.
Peter: Oh, I wish you hadn't told me that.

They'll definitely bring him back. If they permanently killed someone it wouldn't be Peter, Stewie, or Brian, they make the show. They'd kill Joe or something.

Like i said at another thread, there going to do something clever, they cannot kill him off, specially that lame. His adventures with Stewie are the best thing about the show.

I just wanted to post that Family Guy still sucks.

I dont think that he will be gone forever. It just would be stupid.

Perhaps Seth McFarlane lost his voice - - if so, Peter and Stewie better take out some life insurance.

When was the last time people were actually talking about Family Guy like this? There is your reason for killing off Brian right there. If they go back on it all this publicity will be turned around on them.

I expect ratings to be over 3.0 this Sunday too, before eventually landing back in the 2-2.2 range by season's end.

Well there it is, on the Dec. 15th episode Brian is coming back. Season high or even series high ratings in years right there.

Not even close. I believe the lowest performing CW show (Nikita) got a .2 its previous episode. Their highest rated show (Vampire Diaries) got a 1.3 Though I think you're confusing the demo for total viewers. Fox's animated lineup is actually particularly impressive considering how old The Simpsons/Family Guy/American Dad are and considering how much ratings have deteriorated in the past couple years.

I am not surprised and saw it coming. I knew killing him off was just for ratings.
