 Post-Breaking-Bad syndrome
Everything seems so underwhelming now after those final eight episodes. Thank God I've still got The Sopranos (starting Season2 now), which is boss...but otherwise, everything seems meh after BB.

 Re: Post-Breaking-Bad syndrome
And you're not even watching Homeland S3, which is a disgrace on its own and made even worse by the BB comparison

 Re: Post-Breaking-Bad syndrome
I just finished S1 of Homeland and that has already suffered under the BB-effect.
As I said, the only thing that is getting away unscathed right is The Sopranos, which is so unbelievably well-written that I am kicking myself for not having watched it before.

You should watch The Good Wife.
Not as a comparison to Breaking Bad, just because it's a great show.

The last few episodes of 'Dexter' and the premiere of 'The Walking Dead' have both suffered from the BB-effect.

 Re: Post-Breaking-Bad syndrome
From what I read, the last few episodes of Dexter suffered even more from being bad.

People will easily move on to the next show just like they did when they claimed that when Oz, Sopranos and the Wire that nothing else will be as good on tv.

GoT I think is going to have a huge jump next year. I know a bunch of people who binged watch BB this year who are now moving onto GoT. And S4 is going to have big moments that can rival the last 8 episodes of BB from just a pure "OMG" level. S4 should be as awesome as BB's final season. I'm more worried how season 5 and 6 will play out. People may have high expectation after the events of book 3 but book 4 & 5 is rather uneventful for most people. Those seasons could drag GoT down to backlash levels of Lost, Homeland and Dexter.

Not as a comparison to Breaking Bad, just because it's a great show. I dunno...a legal drama, though? Yes. It's a spectacularly well written and acted series. The legal cases are usually really interesting. It also has arguably the best guest cast on television, they've lured in so many high-profile names and great actors over 5 seasons that it's rather staggering. It's also getting way more awards nominations still than any other network drama: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aw ... _Good_Wife

Okay, Libs, I will try it, based solely on your recommendation. It is serealized, though, right? Not just case-of-the-week kind of thing?
Once I am done with Luther and caught up on Homeland, I'll give The Good Wife a shot.
I am still saving up Browadwalk Empire and Game of Thrones for later.

I'd recommend Orange is the New Black or The Good Wife. Both have solid storylines and great humor.

I'd recommend "The Shield" all seven seasons are on DVD.
Great police drama about crooked LA Cops.

Opposite of post-BB syndrome. I just watched The Sopranos Season 3 and it was so amazing that it made me downgrade BB. Different class than BB has ever been

I am still saving up Browadwalk Empire and Game of Thrones for later. I don't think you would ever be able to go through d GOT since this is like the third time that you let other show recommendations cut in line in front of that show.

GoT has nothing to do with recommendations. I want to read all of the (existing) books first and I don't have much time for reading right now

Different class than BB has ever been BB is nearly peffects (and in many places, indeed, perfect), so The Sopranos doesn't put it in a negative light. But The Sopranos is the only one currently not suffering from seeming worse than BB because its writing is just so damn terrific.
