Re: NHL 2012-13 Season If Chicago wins the next two and LA wins Game 7, the last four Stanley Cup champions will be in the Conference Finals. Even if the Red Wings win, it's four of the last five champions in the finals.

Re: NHL 2012-13 Season It's fitting that the star of this post-season for the Penguins was the one guy no one had planned on seeing on the ice: Vokoun. He kept them alive. This was not a playoff run that was ever destined to end well. They had trouble eliminating low-seeded Islanders and Senators and only did so with Vokoun's help.
And it was destined to end like this. They need to assemble the Pittsburgh Penguins, not Marvel's The Penguins.

Re: NHL 2012-13 Season This teaching program I'm part of has a few people from New England and one guy from Pittsburgh in it. You can imagine how much fun the New Englanders had at the Pitt guy's expense over the weekend.
Which reminds me, I need to get into hockey now that I'm living in Rhode Island for the next two years. It's not a thing in the Northwest at all.

If they lose Horton then the Bruins are in one hell of a deep 1-0 hole which could've been soften if they had won tonight.

Re: NHL 2012-13 Season Oh well. Can't give up two goals in 1:16. I never had a good feeling about this one though. And overall I think Chicago was the better team so they deserve it. Would've loved to have seen a Game 7 though (as both a Bruins fan and a hockey fan).
The Bruins had one hell of a year. Entering the playoffs this team looked like they were heading for one round and out (and almost did). Then they woke up.
And both teams have one hell of a good shot of getting right back here next year.
Great half a year.
