Harrison Ford? I don't know how we will feel about an old Han Solo as audiences fell in love with his youthful machismo. Now that he is old, it will be far more difficult for Ford to play up that playful spirit the character has had throughout the series. Old grouchy Indy works, old grouchy Solo will not.
Now a cameo would be awesome. Still I'm skeptical.
I couldn't agree more.

If it was a small role or an extended cameo, I don't think they'd go out of their way to secure him first. It sounds like they had a a great enough story idea that they wanted to secure him before they start writing deeper. It's not like they would recast the role.

I want more than just a cameo, especially if they decide to kill him off. He should at least get 20-30 minutes of screen time if he is going to die in the film.

If he's going to get killed off I suspect it wont be till late in the first film and not at the beginning.
It will be interesting to see where they go with all this. They need to have Hans figure in the sequels because it will renew interest in his character and lead into the Hans spinoff/prequel.

These guys could work in the films but only if they are old wise guys...

You could easily have Luke a main character, he just can't be the protagonist.

He makes perfect sense in a Yoda/Obi-wan role.

Yeah, either way would work. Mark Hamil has his best acting in the series when he played the wise wandering Jedi as he did in the beginning of Return of the Jedi. Hamill has becme a much better actor since 1983, I think he can easily redeem himself to the unenlightened (ie those who do not know he has had a very successful voice acting career).

I wonder if we'll get to see Yoda in spirit, again. Obi Wan would be kind of a double edge sword, Luke obviously sees him a lot, but I wonder if fans would get pissed if its Ewan talking to him.
Hell being that they changed the ghost in Jedi, I wonder if they'd have Luke talk to Anakin's spirit.

Hamill says he's in talks, and the Ford stuff is still apparently a rumor.
Of course it's a rumor. Ain't nothing official

Ewan was one of the best things about the prequels. If need Obi-Wan at all, I would have no problem with him filling in for Alec.

Ewan was one of the few things I enjoy about the prequels.

So, Disney confirmed, there will be a Star Wars-related film every year starting in 2015...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII thread - Gosling?! Efron?!
Thinking about it, Efron's physical appearance looks a bit more similar to Luke in his early years than to Gosling
