Uhh. It is NBC. That is all that needs to be said.

Not to mention its competition was repeats on all the other networks.
Criminal Minds, a similar show based on subject matter, on a bad week never gets below a 2.6 and 10M viewers and has been running for 8 seasons. Criminal Minds isn't on NBC, where a 1.1 might be enough to get Go On renewed.

Explain why no one watches their other shows then. Maybe it's because they suck, and Hannibal really isn't any different.

No. Pure stupidity annoys me and I am going to leave it at that.

I will try to explain. There ARE good things on NBC, even though they get/got good ratings. You saying they mostly suck is incorrect.

NBC has Parks/Rec and Parenthood, 'mmmkay? They might be totally incompetent as a network but they have several shows of superior quality. The Voice is also the best of the singing shows right now.

Also, if ratings were the be all-end all of quality indication, we would be freaking doomed.

Thought it was gonna crash and burn 'cause it was so terrible. Guys? I'll admit it held better than expected. It helped that they re-aired the pilot the other night to decent results and that it was up against a bunch of repeats. We'll see how it continues to hold. If it stays steady like this it will probably see another season. They need to put it in a better spot though. Maybe air this after Law & Order instead of Chicago Fire, otherwise pair it with Grimm on Friday's.

 Re: "Hannibal" - Season 1
I think it'll get renewed if it stays above a 1.2 (Hahahahaha). And pairing it with Grimm on Fridays would be great for NBC.

 Re: "Hannibal" - Season 1
As I posted in the original post, Bryan Fuller has the story arc planned out for seven seasons. I kinda doubt it'd last that long.

 Re: "Hannibal" - Season 1
Very doubtful. Considering how his shows usually do, and that NBC was prepared to bury this thing in the summer, Fuller should be very grateful if he gets another 13 episodes.

I could really see it going well with Grimm. Paired together they could last a while.

 Re: "Hannibal" - Season 1
Fuck it, I couldn't wait to see if the ratings hold up. Watched the first two episodes. Good stuff, though I'M not gonna gush about it as some. The acting is top-notch, but I wonder how much it's going to be villain-of-the-week stuff.
Also, Hugh Dancy's portrayal of the character...I like it now, but I am positive that if he stays like this for a while, it will annoy me greatly in the long haul. Also, I want more Hannibal. Mads Mikkelsen does a great job. I am also keen on their portrayal of Freddie Lounds.

 Re: "Hannibal" - Season 1
Bryan Fuller and NBC have pulled episode 4 of "Hannibal" from the schedule because of The Boston bombing. The episode deals with children killing children, and Fuller sees a parallel to the ongoing. So next week will air episode 5 in its place. No word on when Ep 4 will air: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-207_162-575 ... -bombings/

 Re: "Hannibal" - Season 1
Actually loving this. I've watched the first four episodes over the past two days or so (and for the record the pulled episode is available in its entirety on iTunes) and it's incredibly well-done and quite unsettling. It definitely has that Bryan Fuller touch but it's way darker than I expected coming from him. All of the performances are great and the characters are all interesting - and visually it's just gorgeous. Still have one episode to go before being all caught up, but I hope NBC sticks with it (though given last week's ratings that is doubtful at this point as I'm sure it's an expensive show to produce).

I can't believe this got renewed, I really think the only places airing this are those stores that have TVs always playing on the show window.
