Great episode, Cora is so evil. I hope she gets it in the next episode. I loved the scenes with young Snow and her mother. Next week's episode looks amazing, and I can't wait.

Poor Regina she has been manipulated her whole life.
Most tragic character ever? I'd say so.

Yep, this show has hit its stride. This new "bad" Snow could be epic.
I just hope next episode isn't the end fo Cora.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
This season hasn't been as good as S1, IMO. It's still a really solid series though. I'm willing to bet the final few episodes of the series will be excellent. I'm loving Cora and Regina's whole dynamic the most right now.
My biggest annoyance these past two episodes has been the incredibly obvious fact that all of the Manhattan scenes were filmed in Vancouver. They could have at least made SOME effort in this department - they seriously didn't even try.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
I hated Mulan/Aurora personally, so the second half of the season has been more enjoyable for me.
They need to use Emile de Ravin more though. All of her episodes have been my favorites.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Quote: Wow! What a great episode of Once Upon a Time!
The heart of this episode is its fantastic flashback. Young Snow facing the impending death of her mother Eva is a simple arc, but emotionally effective. I can’t remember the score of the show being used as effectively as in this episode, it beautifully underscored images like Snow over the casket of the queen.
In many ways this is Snow’s origin story. From literal facts like setting up the events that led to her becoming Regina’s stepdaughter and telling us how she got her name, to figuratively, showing how she learned the way of good that defines her. Tempted by tapping into black magic at the cost of someone’s life she said no, as opposed to Regina who couldn’t turn down magic and a future life of darkness when given the chance. Cora’s mothership implanted blackness in Regina and Eva’s implanted good in Snow that helped influence their choice and path. But Snow can’t be angelic or pure as her mother was, as much as she’s tried. By the end of the episode she’s essentially snapped, with yet another attempt at good ending so wrong. Just like Regina has light in her preventing complete darkness, Snow has repressed darkness in her light. This is one of Ginnifer Goodwin’s most well acted episodes of the series so far and the younger Bailee Madison, aside from the perfect resemblence, certainly sells the emotion of a large part in this episode.
The present day Storybrooke scenes were exciting as a whole, culminating in the showdown in the clock tower. Johanna getting flown out the window is a shocking death worthy of a Hitchcock movie, as well as heartbreaking. Two Cora kills in this episode helps establish her as a dark villain and I thought the scenes setting up Snow and Johanna's relationshiop were excellent, leading up to that shock.
Regina and Cora’s conversation at the end of the episode with the former doubting her mother’s true motive, is also interesting. Which side Regina is on will be a crux of the last stretch of the season. While Cora states to her then and in the clocktower that she killed Eva to make her daughter queen, the actual scene of Cora over Eva’s grave feels as if more of a personal vendetta, especially in regards to forever staining the White family name. I look forward to the flashback revealing the source of this animosity. As for the scenes in New York, Rumplestiltskin’s poisoning will lead to a predictable result (he lives), but seeing his anger after his stabbing was an interesting scene. Of course, the main developments in New York this episode is unofficially revealing Baelfire is Peter Pan, as well as introducing Tamara (Tinkerbell perhaps?).
This is one of the best episodes of Once Upon a Time I’ve seen so far. It is beautifully well shot, acted and written, containing both exciting action while being character development orientated. Once Upon a Time is currently at its best. Let’s hope the ratings don’t drop off any further - 6 seasons and a movie! http://worldofkj.com/article.php?i=859

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Great episode! The last few have been great. Love the whole second half of the seaspon and agree that some of the weaker aspects of the early part of the seaspon were the Mulan/Aurora related ones. Still a great season though.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Amazing episode, probably the best this season and had some very sad moment. I really loved the scene between Rumple and Bae. I don't feel bad for Cora, because anyone who rips out their own heart is really setting themselves up. She put herself down that path. But Regina is now pissed off at Snow, should be interesting to see where this goes.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Really good episode, though the phone call scene was done about 100000 times better in "Lost" and this kind of felt like a retread of that.
The ending and subsequent death wasn't surprising but it should make for an interesting final stretch of episodes with Snow's guilt and Regina being bent on revenge.

Well I liked the Bae-Rumple scene better for that reason, especially since they built that up so much the last two seasons.

So, it's good to know Cora was always power hungry. Ididn't feel bad for her at all but for Regina.. oh DAMN.
I WANT SNOW DEAD I know that wont happen but this bitch has it coming, whatever Regina has in store for her, she deserves every bit of it,

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
I thought it was a good episode and am glad to see that Greg is important. Regina probably has his father locked up somewhere. Also, I think Rumple is more tragic. He only became the dark one to save his son.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Jared S. Gilmore is a horrible actor. It was funny to see that other kid in this episode feel about ten times more natural than Gilmore ever has.
Rest of the episode was good though.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Definitely one of the worst episodes of the season, gonna have to get used to Tamara - but the pieces they set up will help the rest of the season. Just pissed they handled August's 'death' that way. Felt stuffed in among the new Tamara stuff, instead of him owning the episode. I guess it's jus annoying how obvious it is, that Eion Bailey's going for a career outside of the show, forced their hand into minimalizing him then getting rid of him this year Guessing Tamara is Tinkerbell. No other female character makes sense to me almost out of race alone. No way they make Dorothy black or Jasmine/Pochahontas black instead of arabic an native. Black Tinkerbell is no issue OTOH. Fits the taser too - probably has her wand in there or a modified version of it Also apparently they're having a Neverland flashback in the last few episodes. So it just fits too well. Make Tamara Tinker and those flashbacks with her and Hook being Villains With Benefits become a lot more awesome. My real crazy speculative theory I just thought of: Tamara's picture isn't of her and her grandmother. It's of her and her DAUGHTER. Say Tamara has been on Earth for like a century. Gives birth to a daughter, who over the next century grows to old lady age by the time they take that picture, before she dies of old age. Tamara is from Neverland so she doesn't age and has to suffer from eternal life without her daughter. That or she's a lesbian and her GF who grows old. But the mother and daughter one fits so much with OUAT's parents and kids themes, in my opinion. Either way this revelation - and the ending flashbacks of the seasons revolving around Tamara instead of Hook - fits the emotional punch they'd like to end the season on I'd guess

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
I thought it was a good episodes, but I agree it sucks how they had to get rid of adult August. I don't think there was any other way other than just killing him off for good. I think Tamara does pose an interesting villain, of course who is the bad guy here? Is Greg/Owen the mastermind or is Tamara? There is also the possibility that Tamara is working for someone else and using Greg.

Re: Once Upon a Time Season 2
Great episode tonight, especially for us Rumple fans. I loved the way he magically tore out the Sheriff's tongue not once but twice. I did hate Regina a lot in this episode with what she did with Belle and being so cruel to Rumple. Robin Hood didn't do much, but I figure it was a small nod and they can still bring him back later.
