Post Ring 2: like Blade II
I was thinking that this could happen before its release. Ring 2s gross is like Blade II, both were overpredicted and made around the same opening weekend gross. I wonder if Ring 2 will end up as high as blade ii?

Exactly.

(when I was talking to my friend Josh who keeps track with grosses after there opening said he figured ring 2 would make 35 on its opening, I then said, thats how much it did make!)

How can you be so sure that Ring 2 will end up like Blade 2? Sure, they're both sequels. But they are rated differently by mpaa, have different actors there, and are advertised differently (esp. to main target groups).

Blade 2 still ended up being a huge hit, it's questionable with The Ring.

Blade II didn't drop on it's first saturday. The Ring Two dropped like a rock. It won't have Blade II's 2.7x multiplier.

If it's lucky, The Ring Two will get Dawn of the Dead's muliplier of 2.2x, and finish with $79.2 million.

I think The Ring Two will do better than Blade II, and I hope it gets to at least $90 million.

Blade II was not overpredicted in 2002. It had a suprisingly strong opening.

The multiplier for Blade II was just over 2.5. The Ring Two won't come near that. If it's lucky it will reach 75m; I think a multiplier of about 2 for 70m is more likely.

I think it'll pretty much duplicate Freddy Vs. Jason's success and top out around $80 million.

Another similarity, the second weekend for both of those movies happens to be Easter Weekend, so a similar drop is in store.
