LMAO someone just called a $36M opening for a movie which cost about $50M a bomb.
LMFAO, puhleese.
That means all the other movies released this year, apart from HITCH and ROBOTS are bombs.
Judging by your retarded views.

The opening is classified as a disappointment not a bomb for The Ring Two.

"Ring Two," starring Naomi Watts and David Dorfman as a mother and her brooding son who are haunted by an evil entity and a mysterious unmarked videotape, pulled in $36 million in over the March 18-20 weekend, box office tracker Exhibitor Relations said on Sunday.
The new film, which opened in 3,332 theaters, fell slightly short of studio executives' expectations of around $40 million. But it handily surpassed the $15 million opening weekend of its predecessor, "The Ring," which bowed in 1,981 theaters in 2002. Final results will be available on Monday.

Why is everyone callin Ring 2 a bomb????
Hello it made 36million opening weekend...which is pretty good for a horror movie, much less in march
Seriously...jsut because some predicted 60 and 70 million dosent make this a bomb...

There's a fine line between Bomb and Disapointment.
Alexander is a bomb. The Ring Two is more of a disapointment, though only to the extremely high predictors.

But they also now own Edwards and all these other theaters that go far beyond those 550.
Anyways, I gotta say, I'm glad Hostage has actually been doing half decent. As is it'll easily pass 30 million, could very well even hit 35.

MovieDude, the bold isn't showing on your sig because you left off the first bracket, but that's a pathetic display. You need to get rid of the anticipated movies list, and make the sig nothing but what you bet. Make those letters bigger too,and in color, like this...
"On This Day Forth, March 20th, 2005, BKB *OWNED* My Fanboy Ass , and proves The RING II Sucked , and The Amityville Horror WILL Prevail"
Don't forget to add your comma after the word ass and sucked.

Hey Mav, this ain't none of you business man. He told me to put it in bold, I'll change that, but me having this is enough, I'm not gonna walk around like the village pariah. He won, I admitted he did without any snide comments about White Noise or AVP or Hulk, and now I've got this. Besides, I'll get my revenge soon enough with The Amityville Horror, which I still REALLY wanna see.

I don't think BKB would want to see your anticipated list getting top billing, do you? I don't think he would want to see it there at all.

C'mon Mav, are you the troll's keeper, or does he keep you? And it's still there, bolded, just like he asked. If HE asks me to have it be on top, that's cool, but I said that I'd put whatever he wanted in my sig, not that I'd take out everything else too.

Hell, now that I think about it, it's far too quiet around here for a movie that disappointed this heavily and I could've sworn there were others to that were in on this bet and lost and need to change their signatures.. I'm pretty certain Lovemerox and Dr.Lecter were part of this bet and OWNED.. I'll have to go back through the enitre thread and see who wagered on this..

BKB. We made a bet, too. Though, it's not applicable at this time...
BKB wrote: Zingaling wrote: BKB, I'm definently in on this bet. If The Amityville Horror makes $50 million opening weekend, I will do what you asked, which is to post at Rotten Tomatoes for one week, any thread or post you wanted posted. BUT, if The Amityville Horrror fails to reach $50 million on opening weekend, you have to not only change your signature to "I got PWNED by a stupid teenager over predicting a stupid PG-13 teen horror movie. The Ring Two owns!". This must be in regular (12 pt) font, and bold writing. AND, if if makes under $50 million, you have to stop writing in bold font for a week. Just regular writing like the rest of us. One week. Why did I add this? For one, I don't want our bet to be the exact same as everyone. And, since I'm willing to sacrifice my week to post things for you in other places, this seems to be fair that you actually match my side by doing something other than putting something in your signature.
If you're willing to accept, then game on. It's a bet.. =D> Bookmark this thread, even though it's gonna be around for awhile I have a feeling..
We'll find out on April 16th...

What do you mean not that affected. I mean, 550 of the 3332 theater is was released in is like 17% of the theaters it play in. And playing in only 1 print in all but a few Regal's, that's gotta hurt. If it did get the multi-print release, it would have added at least 5 million to it's gross.

You know?? I'm sure the Regal factor had some play in this to an extent, but are you sure the movie didn't open higher cause, well, it really wasn't all that good??? I mean it did get tore up in the reviews and now has a 24% on the RT Meter with more negative than positive??

It's going to plummet next weekend. I'm extremely disappointed as it won't reach 90m much less 100m. It might not even finish with 75m. Yes, it's that frontloaded.
The frontloading is worse then I expected, although it's not a complete shock. As a horror sequel, this film was always certain to have a low multiplier. This is however why it should have opened with 60m+. The frontloading is so great, an opening like that might not even have allowed it to beat the original's gross.

Not only was it on a single print, it went deeper then that. Now I understand why Regal never had a trailer for The Ring Two with any of it's movies.
