Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
http://tvline.com/2012/12/04/body-of-pr ... e-date-abcSo they really are leaving "Happy Endings" and "Bitch" on Tuesdays and going against what they had originally stated by giving their other new comedies Wednesday slots. The midseason comedies were originally supposed to air in between cycles of "Dancing With The Stars."ABC what the fuck are you doing?! Their lead-in is going to be something called "Celebrity Diving"?! Are you kidding me?!!!

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
In addition to what was mentioned above: Body of Proof will replace Private Practice in the Tuesday, 10 PM slot on February 5 ABC is creating a bit of chaos on Wednesdays: -The Neighbors will run repeat free in the 8:30 slot from January to the end of March -Suburgatory will return to 8:30 on April 3 -How to Live with Your Parents will get the post-Modern Family 9:30 slot beginning April 3 -Family Tools will premiere in the 8:30 slot on May 1 (I guess the week after Suburgatory ends its season) Dancing With the Stars will also return to the 9 PM Tuesday slot on March 26, which worries me a bit. Wasn't Happy Endings supposed to have a full season? Is it just going to run straight through with new episodes every week? Egad. http://www.deadline.com/2012/12/abcs-mi ... um=twitter

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
Just read the synopsis for 'Red Widow' and it sounds like a rip-off of 'Weeds', minus the comedy. Ever since 'Ugly Betty' was cancelled, ABC has offered me nothing. I mean, I did watch 'The River', but no one else did.

So "Happy Endings" is going to get cut off without all the episodes airing? That's what the Deadline article made it sound like. I'm so worried.

ABC probably has no idea what they're planning on with Happy Endings at the moment, which is exasperating. Can TBS just steal it from them and air it in a block with Cougar Town, please?

Seriously. I'm going to die waiting this long without knowing what is happening. I hope the writers or actors say something on Twitter or somehow this schedule changes before March. I hope TBS is already coming up with a game plan - any network would be stupid not to pick it up as it is critically adored and won't be incredibly far from syndication numbers by the end of the third season. Plus, I doubt it's a very expensive series to make. I just don't understand why ABC continuously develops these great series and then proceeds to fuck them over.

Cult will premiere Tuesday, February 19 @ 9ET.
I'm surprised they didn't flip-flop this and Beauty & the Beast. This would get a huge initial boost out of TVD with Matthew Davis in the show.

Are Hart of Dixie and Cult contenders for least compatible pairing of shows possible?

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
That is such a bizarre pairing. I don't understand why CW is thinking with that either, though the pilot for "Cult" admittedly isn't very good and plays out like a second-rate "The Following."

Also, CW Tuesday 9PM is like the worst spot to put a show.
Even if Cult gets a second season, it will likely face the same misfortune in renewal prospects as Reaper. God I miss that show.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
I've spent a lot of time thinking about this , but FYI "Red Widow' only has an eight episode pickup. Since they are planning on broadcasting the first two episodes as a two-hour pilot, that leaves only six remaining. Assuming ABC airs all of them back to back, all of the episodes will have aired by April 14th. There's still over a month left in the standard television season, so I wonder what they are planning on doing with that timeslot then. Maybe the comedies will end up relocating there? They air on Sundays in Canada anyways (at least "Happy Endings" does). Unless they plan on starting "Mistresses" earlier or something, which I could feasibly see them doing.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
After last night's ratings for Happy Endings and Bitch, they can't seriously plan on leaving them here to struggle? Though the lead-in got almost half the ratings of Dancing With The Stars and they didn't drop as much from that as they did from DWTS, so that's good I guess. And the demo went up.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
In a baffling but sort of delightful move, ABC is yanking 666 Park Avenue from the Sunday schedule beginning January 6 and replacing it in the 10 pm hour with...Happy Endings and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. Which will still continue to air on Tuesdays in addition. From my understanding, this means both comedies will air TWO new episodes a week (Sunday at 10 and Tuesday at 9). This is a bizarre scheduling decision but it also means they should both get to air their full seasons before DWTS replaces them on Tuesdays in March. http://tvline.com/2012/12/21/666-park-a ... -schedule/

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
I really doubt it. I mean, ABC obviously likes the two shows enough to not outright cancel them for awful ratings, but... it would take a small miracle.
On a related note, I just watched the Happy Endings Christmas episode. I will miss this show so much.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
That's strange but kinda cool. I really, really hope both can do a bit better in their airings on Sunday nights. There's a lot of drama airing that night so maybe a couple of comedies can do decent? Fingers crossed. At least both should get to air their full seasons then.

Deadline and TVBN have reported that all negotiations have been settled with the cast and crew and HIMYM has been renewed for a 9th season!
I mean it could of ended this season but I'm down for another 22-24 episodes with the gang!

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
I have sorta mixed feelings. I'm not sure I was totally prepared to say goodbye to HIMYM yet, but much of season 8 has been pushing it already and I feel like season 9 might just drag it unbearably. I hope that's not the case.
And I'm glad that Jason Segel was convinced to stay, rather than him leaving and them keeping the show going without him.
It's pretty remarkable that, assuming season 9 is the end, it will have only run one season less than Friends.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2012-2013 Edition
I really can't see how they will drag Season 9 because I doubt Carter & Bays will still leave the "mother" mystery intact as the event is suppose to happen in May 2012.

Has the show actually said Barney and Robin's wedding is in 2013?
I'm glad the show is coming back, as I still really enjoy it, but I'm a bit worried on the mythology front. Hopefully Ted meets the mother in the finale and then we get a year with her in the group.

Odd, and kewl, I haven't watched a single ep since the season 5 finale (time constraints) but I was looking forward to catching up after the series finale this coming May, but I can wait another season.
