 Re: Survivor: Philippines
RC is still bitter but Pete did ruin a good thing by doing what he did.
Nice Lisa won the award but it would have been nice if Malcolm won that.

 Re: Survivor: Philippines
Ooh, another Fans vs. Favorites edition next season. The first one (which Parvati won) was a great season.
This season was in the top 5 of all time for Survivor. A great season throughout, and a very satisfying finish with a wonderfully cool winner in Denise. No complaints from me.

Awesome, awesome season. So happy for Denise!
Very excited to see who the ten returning players will be - maybe a Malcolm??

 Re: Survivor: Philippines
^ I've heard rumors that... Malcolm is indeed part of the cast next season. One last thought: as it was immediately clear after Wednesday's episode, Lisa and Skupin should have dragged Abi to the end as a goat. I think Lisa would have won. Too late now, obviously, but food for thought. At least Lisa got the Sprint cash. This is also only the second Survivor season with a three person FTC where all three players got a vote (the other was China with Todd, Courtney and Amanda). Every other time, at least one player in the finals got 0 votes. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out how Denise ended up getting Abi's vote, of all people. I figured Abi was an easy vote for Lisa. Abi also showed self-awareness at the reunion and came across as, shockingly, mildly likable. I was a bit thrown off. I'd love to see her come back for an all-stars season.

 Re: Survivor: Philippines
Libs you are totally right. I don't think Lisa/Mike got any other votes and after hearing the Jury thoughts on youtube I can see why.
Most of the tribe members really gave a lot of weight to Denise making it to every tribal council and not every being the target. Also, her being able to knock out Malcolm in the end was a big selling point too.
Those that voted for Denise seemed to all echo the thought that Lisa and Scupin really weren't very good players but just rode their way there. Be it Penner believing they just dragged the winner to the end or Artis and Pete being annoyed at Scupin's lack of leadership or skill in terms of getting the tribe off on the right foot when they started. Malcolm also was annoyed at Scupin's lack of decisiveness. I really thought Abi was gonna vote for Lisa but even she was annoyed at Lisa's gameplay which tribe members really weren't impressed with even though on tv it seemed that Lisa was playing a great game imo. Anyway, Lisa's switching of alliances and not telling Artis he was in trouble among other things left most of her former tribemates unimpressed. I think RC ended up voting her just because she didn't know Denise as long as she did Lisa. Carter's vote for Scupin was surprising too.
Ah, so I guess it comes back to the matter of don't go back stabbing your teammates, be productive in the tribe at all times and careful about saying you will keep your word to people especially if they make it to the jury. That's when you really need to think about how you play the rest of the game.

Too late now, obviously, but food for thought. At least Lisa got the Sprint cash. The problem at that point was that you had to have as many strong competitors as possible to counteract Malcolm in the final immunity challenge or challenges. They were doomed at that point, if either Malcolm or Denise made the final vote. Abi had shown no skill in any challenge that she did not get a huge advantage. If they had known in advance it would be a balance challenge or Malcolm would lose, then they could have gotten rid of Denise then Malcolm. However, not knowing what type of challenge it would be and if it possibly went to final two (or do they know?), if I was that team, I would not want to face Malcolm with just Mike and Lisa, you needed Denise as opposed to Abi in a challenge or two. Abi would have been great to take to the finals, but she was a huge liability in terms of beating anyone in a challenge. The big problem was that Mike seemed to have no idea where he stood in regards to the rest of the jurors, and Lisa didn't strategically think through the implications of sitting next to Denise, Malcolm or Abi. Malcolm's seemingly unbeatable prowess at challenges, I think also played into the calculations. We need to beat Malcolm was more imperative than we need to be sitting next to Abi. Lastly, she was insufferable. It was fun to watch her for an hour, but to have to live with her after 35+ days for a few more may have not been worth even a million dollars. I loved the season, but felt really conflicted at FF. I felt all deserved to win, yet Denise probably was the most deserving winner, since Malcolm really screwed the pooch by not offering her a deal. Mike played a great game but was unable to state all the things he did to change or control the game, when he went with the flow, and when he changed things to his favor, which I found quite impressive. Lisa was so conflicted, which made great television, but was unable to articulate how well she actually played the game and other players.

 Re: Survivor: Philippines
I'm a bit mixed at the moment. I loved the final four, but once a final two was ruled out, I knew whoever stayed against Skupin and Lisa was going to win. And I liked them more.
But Denise deserved it. She played a great game. I can't say she's a favorite winner of mine, and I really don't think her victory will stand the test of time, but for now, it's a good win.
Skupin redeemed himself, in the same way Coach redeemed himself a few seasons ago. Played a fairly similar game too.
Too bad Skupin and Lisa made that awful decision to boot Abi. That screwed them big time.
Not sure how it affected the outcome, if at all, but Penner's dick move to Lisa made me kind of hate him for a while. Still a favorite, but there was no call to make this big reveal about someone looking to win a game. And it was done with nothing but malice. Too bad. It could have swayed one or two people (probably Abi... she took weird things to heart). Not to mention it was the pot calling the kettle black. Co-starring on a Tea Leoni sitcom from the 90s may not be the same, but to the average person, starring on television = millions and millions of dollars, no matter how false it is.
I know some hate returning players, but I'm psyched for Fans vs. Favorites II.

Also, Having seen the potential list of returnees, I can say with certainty I have no clue who half of them are, while the other half are largely eh. Did Webster's re-define "favorite"?

I do not remember Brenda, Corinne, Erik, or Francesca.
The only solid returnee is Malcolm. I kinda wish they would have brought Kim from One World and Sophie from South Pacific, but they wouldn't have a chance since they've already won.
I think we can thank the Survivor gods for not bringing Colton back though. Rev wrote: Someone from KJ turn in a video for survivor I plan on it!

I know some hate returning players, but I'm psyched for Fans vs. Favorites II. OMG. I thought he was an actor, but I thought I was just confusing him with someone else. I just remember him reminding me of a young Alan Alda (mostly the voice) back in the 1990's on The Naked Truth and The Last Supper. I would have thought I would have read something in EW or something at some point, but I never checked him out at IMDB. Thanks for mentioning the hypocrisy with the resume info, I felt it was a pretty bitter move.
